  1. Message me with any questions you have, I graduated in jan 2011. Best decision I ever made and loved my educational experience at ACC!!!!
  2. I just applied and got hired at a similar place..u should message me, I bet its the same company. Im really worried about if they are al legit company or a scam!
  3. West Coast University no longer has there lvn to rn bridge program. I attend ACC right now and we share a campus with them, thats what sold me on the lvn program, they pretty much gaurenteed us a spot at the west coast bridge program, then right after we started and they took our check they informed us west coast isn't going to offer it anymore....typical private schools i guess. It messed up alot of students, it was def. the selling point of acc, a promised spot at west coast. good luck finding a school! :)
  4. So i am enrolled to start nov. 2nd. I have been so excited getting everything ready, i moved all the way from Washinton state to attend this school....so we had a meeting last week where they told us that school might not start on time because of accredidation issues. The deal is they are so new that there first group of students are graduating at the end of NOV. so the state has to come in and evaluate how the class did and decided if they are going to give them full accredidation or limit anything...first of all, they did not tell us any of this...or atleast in this amount of depth when we signed up!!!!!! so now accredidation has pushed back when they are coming in and i found out through word of mouth today that they are thinking of post poning our start date until January! ***! they havn't even announced this to all of the students yet...they are leading everyone on having them come to orientation still on the 27 and 28, three days before the start date to tell everyone... what do i do? is there any other accelerated programs still admitting students right now? or any other ACC Ontario students that have any other info or want to chat? I need some advice and need to make some decisions asap. Thanks for listening to my rambles.....i'm so frustrated with them!!!!!
  5. I agree with DolceVita, I am pretty young and don't have much experience in life.....but I am married and am going to nursing school. Your time is crunched enough as is, school is time consuming and your mind is always on something to do with school or that test you should be studying for, any extra time you have should be spent with your wife. If you have enough time to be sending texts or emails that aren't related to school and to other females than something is wrong here. Your wife has already had to accept that for the next couple years nursing school comes first in your life, thats hard to deal with as is then all the females that get your time on top of that. I suggest you just pay some extra attention to her. Good Luck! :loveya:
  6. I have now exhausted what seems to be every option.....I am due to start in november and its looking like it might not happen. Does anyone know if it is possible to get state assistance if I am brand new to the state? I have never been employed here in cali so I don't think it will be possible. Errrrg i talked to financial aid office and they were no help either....i really just want to pull my hair out. Sorry about the depressing post...this is so discouraging!
  7. Thanks for all the responses, I have been applying for scholarships ever since i got accepted to school. I new i was way short on tuition but my parents were going to help and i had a couple other options. Now its all changed and i need to find a way to finance that money. I am still applying for scholarships without any success yet, and i did apply for many loans all of which i have been denied. I am going to talk to the school tomorrow and see if they can help. I am from Washington but and moving to California for school, so any state assistance i won't qualify for. The school has offered monthly payments while i am in school as a last resort, the payments are 300 a month!!! which doesn't sound like much but after rent and all that other crap i don't think i will be able to swing it. hmmmm can a husband be a cosigner on a loan?
  8. not really exactly sure what branch yet, i'm kind of just weighing my options with all of them. I am not even sure if joining is what i have my heart set on. I've always thought that when i get my RN it would be a very rewarding way to work. I really don't know enough and am not sure enough to go talk to a recruiter. Can you tell me more about the army nurse corps?
  9. Thanks for the responses its alot of help to here things in basic terms instead of all that army talk...
  10. Maybe i havn't done enough research but i have some very basic questions that i havn't seen posted anywhere. what is the process like coming straight out of nursing school with a BSN and joining the military with no prior military experience? Boot camp? compensation? do you relocate right away? is there a chance you can stay where you live or do you have to move? Is a four year option the only option? Is it best to wait until you are completely done with school or is there a way to join but still continue in school? Does the military help with accelerated programs? Thanks for anyone who can answer some of my questions.

  12. Tried to get a private loan and they want a co-signer and i don't have anyone that will do that. Can my husband co-sign? I just don't understand why i don't get more aid....all my friends get so much aid and stafford loans and i barley got anything loans, and did not get any grants. I'm really frustrated, by by to nursing school I think is whats going to happen.
  13. I don't understand, my husband and I don't make very much money, sometimes barley enough to get by! i didn't get enough to cover school and have already taken out two loans and still don't have enough! anyone have any ideas on grants or anything? I am stressing out, i got into the lvn program and am suppose to start in November and just found out i will be short on tuition! please any advice would be great
  14. I am going to acc....and have been looking for others that are going! Which campus are you going to? Camie
  15. I just started looking into "future" things today for when i finish the lvn program. I didn't know these were the circumstances after getting your lvn...I talked to west coast university today and they didn't say anything about a waitlist....it is alot of money! I also herd that the lvn through a vocational school like acc is not transferable to a state school. I'm starting to have second thoughts about this desicion!!!! i don't want to be stuck as an lvn forever! hmm
