UEI College...Anyone hear of it?
Thanks for the response. But I posted the question in 2009 and did complete the first VN class in Nov. 2010. We graduated 21 Nov.10 and since we were the 1st VN class it was apparently a big deal. I enjoyed the class and the instructors. It was 11 months too and very fast paced. I was the classroom advocate, but was promoted to Secretary when our original secretary resigned. It was hard work, but worth every minute. Enjoy, and study hard!!

Moving to NY after Graduation
Thank you for the information. I am hoping to take the NCLEX in NY, because I need to leave California as soon as school is out. Since it is standardized hopefully that won't be an issue. Thank you again and congrats on your December graduation.

Moving to NY after Graduation
Hi All, I am currently in LVN school in California and will be graduating this coming November. I am relocating to Upstate NY in November and need to know what to do about the NCLEX and NY licensing. Since I will graduate from a California school, can I take the NCLEX in NY and what do I need to do to apply for NY licensing after I pass the NCLEX. (Positive thinking, ya'll). Thank you for the input. BZZYBEE:rolleyes:

Hi all, I am in a quandry. I am currently in the end of my 2nd semester of LVN school and have a presentation to due. It is on the NG tube and medication administration and what is to be used in the tube feedings and such. They are going to ask can alcohol be given. I know the answer is no, but I can seem to find the words to explain why. Can anyone help? Thanks BzzyBee

New LPN students to start soon !! Come share your experiences :)
He everybody, Well, I started my LVN program this past Monday after 3 days of orientation the week prior. It is a brand new program at UEI College and the instructors are very good and nice. I, of course am the oldest in the class, 51, and there are 60 students with only 4 males. We have already had 2 quizes and so far we have 2 more scheduled for this coming Monday and Tuesday. Lot's of studying!!! Very cool though. I hope you all are doing well and have a lazy weekend. (Yea, right)

New LPN students to start soon !! Come share your experiences :)
Hi Everyone, Well, had the last of a 3 day orientation yesterday and classes themselves begin this Monday. I retired from Corrections 1 year ago Feb. and couldn't keep busy enough, so I figured I would attempt what I have wanted to do for years, but was unable to. So nursing school is now a happenin' thing. By the way, 51 is a great time to start a new career. I seem to be the Mom in the class- out of 60!!! Hopefully they don't all have issues.LOL:D Good Luck to us all...Study, Study, Study Kim

Relocating to Upstate N.Y.
Thank you so much for the address and website. I appologize for taking so long to reply. I won't be relocating until 2011 as I graduate in Nov. 2010 and due to weather will need to wait until the winters clear. I can't wait!!! I don't like California and can't wait to get to Horseheads or somewhere in that vicinity. Thank you again for the info.

New LPN students to start soon !! Come share your experiences :)
Hi everyone, I am beginning my LVN program November 2. I have been looking forward to this for quite sometime and even though I have no formal education, I have a lot of years of hands on caregiving experience and I'm confident that it will be a help. I am nervous though. I am 51 years old and have already retired from 1 career and am starting this new one. My program is on 1 year, so I won't be too much older when I graduate. Besides, hopefully life experience won't be considered a negative. Good luck to all of us newbies and study, study, study...

Relocating to Upstate N.Y.
Thank you so much for your reply. This is actually the first time someone answer one of my questions. I can't wait to get out of California so the less pay isn't going to be an issue. Thank you again.

Relocating to Upstate N.Y.
Hi Everyone, I am currently enrolled in the LVN Nursing Program in California and will graduate in November of 2010. I plan on relocating to Upstate N.Y. in the spring of 2011 and am wondering what I will need to do to take the N.Y. State licensing. If anyone fill me in, I would appreciate it. I can get a heads up, so to speak. Thank you:yeah:

UEI College...Anyone hear of it?
I am to begin the LVN program at UEI the 2nd of November. I am very excited, but pretty discouraged about the financial end of it. The program is very expensive and I don't qualify for Federal Pell grant. Believe it or not 3 of us live on $2000. a month is Southern California. Been hit pretty hard by the economy and other factors. UEI is not a 2 or 4 year college so I can't seem to find any scholarships or grants. I don't it me being 51 years old has any bearing on the lack of funds. Any ideas about funding. Don't ask about credit. Like I said, been hit very hard by the economy. Thanks for anyones help.

Paying for school....
I am to begin the LVN program at UEI in Southern California Nov. 2nd. I am having a very difficult time with the financial end of it. Have had some really back luck with the economy these past 2 years and am attempting to get back on my feet. I currently am taking care of 3 disabled family members and am not getting wages. I do have my husbands meager disability check and my retirement check, but they are a far cry from what I need. I guess what I am asking is #1 Has anyone any information on UEI and #2 What scholarship programs accept a school that is not a 2 or 4 year college? Help. Thankx
