Hi there,
I want to start local travel nurse job here in GA. I cant travel far a way from home because of my Kids...plapla...so I decided for local. but kind of feeling the pay rate is not tempting and I am afraid that IRS would tax me on my housing stipend. hourly 25$/hr, food stipends 210/ wk, and housing is 500$/ wk
in general I wanted to drive back home every night. and drive back 60 miles to work the next day.
Do I qualify for that stipend. or I will be doing a dangerous in the dark adventure.
I honestly do not know, you could give a call and see. I would give her last name, but didn't think that would be right. Didn't want to put a company name. Small local company. She is not pushy at all no sales pitch what so ever and always very transparent. Right up front and always gives the bottom take home price.
Please do your research. I signed my first travel contract with PPR Travel Nursing and during orientation in the facility, I learned that all other nurses from other agencies make $1000/week or more than what I get from PPR. That is $13,000/contract difference...way too much regardless of their reason. I plan to bail out from the contract and not work with them anymore. I am also creating Instagram for TRavel Nurses and hopefully nurses do not get taken advantaged of by these agencies who only want to make money while nurses do the hard work and sacrifices.

I don't know the hospital name, but a Milwaukee hospital always seems to have openings in multiple specialties. I've taken note of them because often the openings are the OR.
