The big yahoos come from corporate today....changed all the nurses from hourly to pay per visit. Nothing is weight...SOC, routine all the same. 6 visits a day to meet quota....at $33 a visit... Should I find the ky?
Wow, feel kind of discouraged about fee per visit info that has been posted. I haven't worked since 1999 and did not really want to go back to the craziness of critical care units. It would be nice to try something different in which you could have a more personal interaction with patients and not feel as stressed like it is in the hospital settings, plus have some schedule flexibility. I guess we will continue to be overworked and underpaid in any venue.

Not necessarily. If you do extended care instead of intermittent visits, you are paid an hourly rate for your shift. You don't do work on your own time or travel to more than one address, so you are not being taken advantage of (as much). It is just like a regular job but with only one patient.
I like the "pay per visit" pay. You actually get paid for your work, the more patients you see, the more you get paid. Unlike the hospital where you get slammed with patients and get paid the same no matter how much work you do. But a SOC, ROC, and Recert should definitely pay more than a general visit. Ours is a bit low, but we are having a staff meeting to discuss this and possibly get it changed. Our minimum amount of visits per week now is 25. It was 28 until this new OASIS C, but that didnt help out our pay. Less visits means less money. But our D/C oasis counts just as a general visit, which is subject to change (I hope). Im just sick of coming home and doing hours of paperwork on my own time.

Have to agree with you. Lowest rate for LPN/LVNs per visit is usually $25/visit. But the agency is using the fact that they are a non-skilled agency to pay at a lower rate. You could look for better pickings. That rate of pay might be more palatable if you were working eight hour shifts with some security about the number of hours worked each week.
