Pay difference between PCT and PCT nursing student

Published

Although wages will differ from state to state, or places of employment, does anyone have any idea what the pay difference would be at your job between a PCT and a PCT nursing student as an example?

What State are you in?

You guys have to check with the human resources in your area too see if such positions are available. I just googled nurse extern/ nursing student positions and a bunch of listings came up from different states. Google it to see if its in your area.

Specializes in ER.

The PCT was basically anyone. It could be a STNA. It could be a nursing student. It could be an EMT. They made like 10-12 bucks. The nursing extern made about 14 bucks but their role was usually just the same. Sometimes the nurse extern could insert foleys.

I could place Foleys as a PCT when I wasn't in Nursing school. New hires did too. Pay was the same. I think it depends on the hospital honestly
