I got an interview today at a teaching hospital in a step down unit. They asked me if its better to call them clients instead of patients? Odd question. What do you guys think?
I worked at an LTC facility that made us call the patients "elders". Kinda hard to do when you work the skilled unit and you have someone maybe 10 yrs older than you there for rehab.
In my opinion, if the facility is their home, they are "residents" otherwise they are all "patients".
