Pathophysiology ??s

Anyone have any good pathophysiology supplemental books they can suggest? I won't lie, I'm a bit intimidated by patho ;) I should probably brush up on some A&P as its been about a year since I've taken them. Anyone have any good A&P reviews. Thanks in advance!

oooh, oooh! i have the answer to this one!

you want the anatomy coloring book and the physiology coloring book. this is not a joke-- they are the best texts i have ever seen for helping students like you who just sorta have a hard time putting it all together. they are interactive-- you will do some coloring-- but it will teach you this material like nothing else. never seen them fail. great series.

Thanks! I will surely pick some up (or order them). I still have my netters a&p flash cards so I will use them too.

Don't be intimidated with patho. If you like nursing, scien.ce, A&P, and want to know what is going on with your pt, then patho will be helpful. Think of patho as a way to gain more knowledge about your patient's problems.

Awesome! Thank you so much! Yes I loved a&p and love science in general. My professor always included some patho into his lectures, I found it interesting.

Thanks!

I had a great little supplemental book for pathophys. It is the BEEEESSSST book I have ever purchased! It's called Clinical Pathophysiology made Ridiculously Simple by Aaron Berkowitz. It was written for MDs to prepare for boards, but I think every nurse should be required to read it. It's broken down by body system and it just goes through the major diseases in each system. But it makes everything SOOOO easy to understand. And it throws in some clinical pearls along the way. Good luck!

P.S. This isn't the only book like this he has written. You can find some more books along the same lines, like, Microbiology Made Ridiculously Simple... etc. They're fantastic.

I took Pathophys in 8 weeks. I did really well but I'm not 100% sure I retained all of it. I just bought "pathophysiology made incredibly easy" at the suggestion of others on here. I haven't really done more than skim it but it's a really popular series.
