Passed in 75, very few SATA, PVT worked

Published

Hi,

I just found out I passed the NCLEX in 75 questions (took it on June 5th), but my test was a little different from some of the others I've seen posted. I only had a few SATA (maybe 6 or 7), no hotspots or audio, only one math question (super easy) and maybe 2 or 3 exhibit questions. The vast majority of my questions were straight multiple choice with 4 answers. I was freaking out because I didn't get any of the so-called "harder" type of questions. I got a super easy question in the middle of the exam which also made me panic. Most of the questions were challenging but fair. There were only about 4 or 5 questions that made me stare at the screen and say, "What the HECK?!" After the test, I looked up some of the questions I could remember and got almost all of them right. I tried the PVT about an hour after I finished and got the good popup (which is not really a popup but a red box that says you can't schedule the test). I read on this forum that it was not accurate until 24 hours, so I tried again the next day and it still worked. You do have to enter a credit card number, but just change the expiration date and CVC if you're worried about being charged $200. To study I used Hurst and UWorld. What helped the most was just doing a bunch of questions. I studied for 3 weeks and did about 100-150 questions a day. On the Hurst practice tests, I usually got about 50-70% correct on the 25 question tests. (NCLEX is not tricky like some of the Hurst questions). I only did one simulator test and got 92/125 (at least 77 is recommended). On UWorld, I did the 25 question practice tests and always got slightly higher than average. My first UWorld Q test scores were 65% correct (74th percentile) with a very high chance of passing. I did better on the second UWorld Q test: 75% correct (96th percentile). I just thought I'd post this to reassure anyone who doesn't get a lot of SATA or alternate format questions. Good luck to everyone!

Congrats on a job well done.

Congrats dear.

I had almost same experience. Got about 18 SATA and my last 5 questions were multiple choice. did the PVT and got the good pop up. hoping its right. CA BRN can cause heart attack by delaying release of results.
