I used the Excelsior Outline, looked everything up in the textbooks, and used the internet for research. I also used notes from the yahoo study groups.
You don't need to sign a contract with a publishing company to succeed!
I do like Rue and College Network though, I like to use their practice exams.
I use them to quiz myself to see where I need to refocus.
Seems to have worked so far, I still have a 4.0! :)
Hi,
Congrats...I know it is not easy. I am getting ready to take NC 2 in a few weeks and have been reading and studying and reading and studying..
Unfortunatly I had to take NC2 since the Community College I went to was not NLN Accredited. ugh
Anyway, you deserve dinner and desert for passing.....enjoy
Any words of wisdom for NC 2 test?
Thanks....
Keep on...
O. I am also in the good ole State of Fl, where there are tons of nursing jobs due to the average age here is over 100....

I graduated back in 2000 and I studied the same way you did. I feel I got a getter education by having to look everything up and do the research myself. I feel my retention was much better. I used one study guide from Chancellors and although I passed the test with an A, I don't feel I actually learned anything, it was more like memorizing and though passing is the objective I was just as interested in learning. I graduated 4.0 also. You go girl. When you're ready for CPNE, PM me. I have an organizational plan that absolutely saved my a**. I failed my first CPNE. I was horrified. I had been an LPN for 26 years. Organization was the key for me. I'm very proud of you!
Where did you take your cpne at? I hear going to Albany, NY is the only way....I know I have a long way to go but I will do this.
The key is to never give up or give in....
LIFE IS SHORT...
I went to Atlanta both times. Gwinette was a nightmare, not at all friendly, they were extremely picky, poor orientation. 4 out of 5 failed. I took it 30 days later and did not study in between (honest) I went to SRMC in Atlanta the second time and passed with no repeats. They were great there. We all passed. I do believe where you go can make a big difference. Good Luck.

This is very helpful information...I hope to be ready for the CPNE by the end of 2006 and since I am in Florida, I was planning to try to take it at one of the Georgia locations. I will keep this advise in mind.

Hi All-
I am just starting NC2 and am going to try and study from the outline. In the past, I would read every chapter listed from beginning to end:o and am now realizing that I just need to follow these outlines.
Please give me some advice on how any of you use the outline, as I look over them I don't know how in-depth to go into each section.
A little help please?
