HI, I have recently taken a Nursing job PRN with a very Large Co. In the interview, I had agreed with the Co., that traveling was never a problem. What they DID not tell me, is I would be traveling ON MY OWN TIME, and only paid for TIME ON THE JOB. Yes, I did get mileage, but when They said " travel mileage was paid" I presumed Travel Time as Well. Meanwhile, I was asked to drive over 4 hours and work 1 hour. Since I refused, my relationship with the hiring manager has gone down the drain. Any ADVISE...I know, I should have gotten it all in writing but ... Too late now. ANYONE KNOW IF: " IT IS Normal NOT to be paid for travel time to and from a job?" Thanks...

Hi, I live in Palm Beach. Lost my job of 23 years due to 9/11 and the good ole State of Fl paid to retrain me. I decided *lost my marbles* to go into the nursing field. Missed the RN program by 1/2 a point so I jumped into the LPN program at PBCC and passed in May with my Lisc in hand by Aug. Now I am in Excelsior getting ready for NC2 and hoping to have my RN by end of this year..GOD WILLING... My story.... NEXT....

Where did you take your cpne at? I hear going to Albany, NY is the only way.... I know I have a long way to go but I will do this. The key is to never give up or give in.... LIFE IS SHORT...

Hi, Congrats...I know it is not easy. I am getting ready to take NC 2 in a few weeks and have been reading and studying and reading and studying.. Unfortunatly I had to take NC2 since the Community College I went to was not NLN Accredited. ugh Anyway, you deserve dinner and desert for passing.....enjoy Any words of wisdom for NC 2 test? Thanks.... Keep on... O. I am also in the good ole State of Fl, where there are tons of nursing jobs due to the average age here is over 100....
