Passed NCLEX with SUPER SUPER LOW scores

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi nurses and future nurses,

i just wanted to share my story!

i finished nursing school this May, 2017! I was a good student but also did struggle in a couple of classes. My school uses Kaplan and I was HORRIBLE at it! When I was studying for my test literally EVERYONE would tell me they get 50-60s on their practice Kaplan! Well that didn't happen to me! I had 40s-55 with lots of 40s! Here is a rundown of my grades:

Diagnostics: 55.2%

QT 1: 46.7%

QT2: 57.3%

QT3: 45%

QT4: 46%

QT5: 47.3%

QT6: 48.5%

QT7: 49%

Qbanks: anywhere between 40-55% (mostly between 48-53%)

Readiness Test: 62.2%

I also used Uworld which helped me with content a little! But definitely recommend Kaplan!

I went to take my test, my heart was pounding the whole time! I did my best and took my time! It shut off at 75! I was sure I failed! I felt nauseous and felt like didn't even know one question! 24 hours after I got my license number... I PASSED!!!

So don't let these stupid grades let you down! Do your absolute best, study, practice practice practice and you will make it! I Promise

good luck everyone ❤️

You used the kaplan qbank?

Yes!! I would do at least 75 questions a day! And would remediate and take notes!!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I always see high Kaplan scores and it's been freaking me out, so it's super reassuring to hear you passed! And in 75 no less, congratulations! I test in 10 days and have been using strictly Kaplan, so hopefully my story turns out like yours :)

People kept telling me that numbers don't matter and keep practicing but I was skeptical!!! However, it worked!! I really do believe Kaplan gets you ready! Just remediate and focus on questions and you'll be good! Good luck. Let me know how it goes

I'm in the same boat as you! Only difference is that I used VATI! I failed my exit predictor exam, and was told not to take my NCLEX which was three days away!

I took my NCLEX, and passed at 75 questions!

Shout out to you for staying confident and doing your thing!! And CONGRATS!

~ anyone else reading this, don't let your prep course rule you! ;)

Thank you for sharing this! I've been using Kaplan and I also agree that it is a great tool to study. My test is in two days and today is my last real study day. On my last few Qbank 75q tests, I've been pulling between 50-60% which is great! On my test today I pulled a 40% which was a bit of a buzz kill but I'm still confident overall. Reading your experience has helped me remain poised and ready to have another swing at the NCLEX. Thank you!
