Passed NCLEX,no SSN yet

hi...i would like to address my question to anyone who could enlighten me on this matter...i recently passed my NCLEX-RN under the state of NY, i am aware that i could only obtain my license if i have my SSN already, which i do not have right now...our I140 has been approved couple of months back but due to retrogression, we cannot proceed to the next step yet...my friend who passed her NCLEX under California informed me that she also received a letter from her BON stating that she is given like 2-3years to obtain an SSN if she fails to do so, her NCLEX will be forfeited/revoked or something like that. I would just like to ask if this situation is the same for other states particularly for NY. When i received my official NCLEX result, there was no other letter or notice stating as to until when i am given the time to obtain SSN for my license.Hope you guys could help me with this...i appreciate your time.

Thanks much...praying for the best for us all!:balloons:

If the state does not issue a hard license, then there is no license number to endorse and one must go thru the License by Examination process and then have the original state submit proof of passing.

This has been discussed many times over and there are more current threads on the same topic.

Going to close this one since it is older.
