passed nclex-rn at 265!

Yup! Sat there for 5 and 1/2 hours! Like others, I've always checked for posts about their success stories and i can't believe I'm posting one right now!

Studied for a month and a half, the whole month I've been working full time and then i resigned and had two more weeks to study. Let me tell you something, in order to get somethig you really really want, you have to sacrifice. I sacrificed my job and my social life! Resist temptations to go on trips. You won't enjoy it anyway because you will feel guilty. But anytime you feel like you deserve a break, go on a date with your special someone or watch a movie. Something quick and will not get you hungover for the whole day lol.

A friend of mine lent me her notes with Hurst review and it was my main source for content. Anything that I don't understand, I check on Saunders or Youtube (pathophysiology). What worked for me was understanding why the symptom was like that and how this would resolve it. Understand the disease instead of memorizing it. I also purchased the Kaplan Qbank and scored 55% average with 40% used. With the QT, I scored 60%, 60%, 49%, 55%, 56% and never did the qt 6 and 7. But bottom line, do not focus on your scores. Focus on the rationales! Thats the most important thing! A high score does not guarantee passing.

The day of my exam, i did all the things that I would do routinely when studying. I made a cup of coffee and had a slice of cake. Say a prayer before you get out of the house and have a positive mindset. Someone posted about saying "this is a good day to pass!" i did that. And also someone from here said she dressed as if shes going out on a date. I did! And my sister advised me to be excited instead of nervous and treat it like a job interview. Bottom line, be confident and hold your head high! Because at this point, worrying is not going to help either so just have a leap of faith.

Before i went in, i jumped to shake the nerves off or anytime i would go to the ladies' room lol. The exam had a lot of pharmacology questions that I'm not familiar with. But I never really studied pharm.except for the indicated drugs for the disease. Thats it. Infection control was like 1/3 of my exam. The rest is prioritization and conferences. Dont forget to take breaks when you need it. Meaning when your mind starts wandering. I took a break every 60q.

So goodluck everyone and just remember that it IS possible to pass!

Wow sound like my exam! I had a whole bunch of safety and infection control, along with multiple prioritization questions and conference questions. My exam shut off at the maximum of 265. Unfortunatley, I believe in my heart that I failed.

No I haven't checked. But I'm pretty sure in my heart that I failed. My results are on hold. I didn't receive the good or bad pop up. Lol

Tell them not to. As long as you are getting questions, you are still in the game!!

Thank you for sharing your success story! Seriously! I feel that the only other threads I see about someone testing with the same number has not ended well for them. I took the NCLEX-RN today and tested on all 265 in 5 1/2 hours as well! I left there feeling defeated telling myself that I was 99.9% sure that I just failed mainly because I hadn't heard of anyone passing with the full amount of questions before. But after several friends telling me that they know someone who passed at that number AND after reading your post I plan to continue holding onto hope until I get my official results telling me either way! And I refuse to do the Pearson Vue trick mainly because if I'm going to find out I didn't pass I'd rather it be from the Kansas State Board of Nursing! :yes: Congratulations on passing!

That's pretty amazing. I was going to say I can't imagine a 5 1/2 hour NCLEX but I'm one of the old farts that took the paper test. It was one full day and another half day with months of waiting for the results.
