Passed NCLEX-RN 265 questions (2015)

Published

Hello everyone!

I have read a lot of helpful threads in this website in preparation for my Nclex-rn examination last December 12, 2015 and now I want to share my experience answering 265 questions and PASSED.

I answered 265 questions for 5 hours. It was hard and some questions were tricky. However, I didn't let my anxiety consume me. I answered each question carefully.

After the exam was over I was totally sure that I failed because the last question felt like it was really easy. Some questions were also repeating the same topic. Immediately after the exam I read almost all of the thread I can find and it gave me hope somehow.

I got around 10-SATA, 1-calculation, 15-meds, and LOTS of prioritization and delegation questions.

Review materials:

>Saunders comprehensive review book 5th edition (its like 2011 edition, i didn't buy the latest one because i don't want to spend lots)

>Kaplan question bank good for one month ($50)

>Question trainers 2,3,4,5 (i found them online)-took all of them a week before my exam. It was really useful!

>Make sure to review Lab values and MEDS! I re-memorized most of them 2 weeks before my exam

I reviewed for 2 months, 5-6 hours per day. Saunders book is really good for content review and kaplan question bank and question trainers are SUPER helpful to increase your confidence in test taking. Schedule your study plan in a piece of paper and stick to your plan. During the 1st month, I did a lot of content review ( I was really weak with the content). And on the 2nd month I answered 50-100 questions every morning and reviewed the questions in the afternoon (especially the wrong ones). My scores weren't that high, it's probably between 55%-68%. And if you're tired of reading, you can always watch or listen to youtube videos regarding any topic (e.g. cardiac cycle etc)

If I can do it and so can you :)) Always give your best in everything you do and it'll be worth all the sacrifices you've made.

Definitely the best Christmas gift! Goodluck guys! :))

Congrats on passing the exam!!!!!! I can relate that 5hrs is a very long time to sit and focus on this test. :dead: I took mine yesterday 12/21/15 and I had 200 questions and ran out of time. I knew it wasnt good, after reading over and over that they look at the last 60 questions it is not a happy feeling I have. I get my unofficial results tomorrow, I've tried the PVT and no good pop-up. But, I have a test mode mindset and im just going to keep studying and try again in 45days. Has anyone here used u-world? Ive read that its a good one to use, I used kaplan but maybe I need something else. I had about 40 select all that apply, bioterrorism took me by surprice, prioritization, delegation and many pharm -they would provide a drug then "who would you question this order for" type. But only 1 dosage cal! I was ready for more dosage calculations. lol :)

Congratulations!

hi

i took the test on Dec,17 and did pvt ,good pop up but i didn't find my name on breeze yet. how can i get my unofficial result in California..

We don't have quick results in California. I took mine on Dec. 16 & my license got posted after 3 days. I didn't do PV trick. I was ready to wait for days & weeks. [emoji137]🏽
