Passed NCLEX-RN, Now what?

Published

hi,

i am in US (New York) on H4 (H1 dependant) visa and passed NCLEX-RN for Oregon State Board. Now the problem is Oregon Board will not issue the RN licence untill i give the SSN which i dont have (and i will not get SSN when i am in H4 visa - i understand???). I want to transfer the licence to New Jersey so that i can work in NJ. Is there any way i can get the licence transfered before i get the SSN? Please advice.

Thanks,

Maka

You can't work anywhere in the US without an SSN and no one is going to help you do that, not Oregon, not New Jersey.

Congrats on passing the NCLEX however with retrogression there is no way you can adjust your status and be able to work.

There is no way to work in the US at this time, we do not have any visas available for you to adjust your visa to. NJ does not issue a license without a SSN# either.

Please take the time to do some reading here about what is happening in terms of the retrogression. Chances are that your spouse's visa will be over before things will get done for you.

The majority of the states here are no longer issuing licenses if one does not have a SSN# and proof that they can legally work here.
