Passed Nclex Pn on the second try!! Please read this if you feel like giving up!

:redbeatheI took my first test December 29, 2008 at 0800 I was a nervous wreck, with months of studying. The day of the exam, my car broke down my husband and father had to come get me 45 mins away.. It was already a bad day. Anyways my dad ended up taking me.. I was a nervous wreck because I had almost gotten hit several times because my car just shut off three times on the highway in the midst of traffic.. UGH!! I was crying and Nervous when I showed up to take my test.. Then i sat down to take it.. all I could think of is that my dad is out there waiting and he needs to eat and take his medications. and I just wasnt thinking clearly but I tried to focus.well i ended up getting all 205 questions, and I assumed I passed because Most people pass the first time, but in my heart I knew I failed. Well I waited and waited for my results on the BON website nothing.. ( I didn't know about the pearsonvue trick then) But anyways, I paid to get my results and I FAILED!!!! This entire year has been a good year but in my :redbeathe I was still disappointed in my self and hurt that I let my family down, I didn't want to talk to anyone from school because they had all passed. I just was in a Funk all year over a test... I couldn't believe it. Well my husband got into a bad accident and I had to take care of him, and I said God I know things happen for a reason and This is it. You knew he was going to be hurt and this isn't the time to work, there is nooone but me to take care of him.so I did and I was thinking ok ,Maybe this isn't the career for me.. Well In may I decided to pay to take it again.. I studied here and there but wasn't stressing about it..

Well at the end of November 2009 I decided to take it ON December 29th, 2009 YES!!!! The same at the last test.. ( execpt i took it at 11:30) Well I didn't study much but I had been studying off an on throughout the year.I did have a few flas cards with drug endings and some diseases.. Anyways.. My dad took me again.. becasuse my car is broke down at my house.. ( SEE A SIMILARITY TO MY STORY YET?? ) Anywho.. My dad prayed for me before I took it.. I was calm , relaxed and I just wasnt stressed out like the last exam.. I sat down and said another prayer.. The computer screen got to 85 then 86 and kep going.. I was like OH NOO.. well I ended up with 205 questions again. But I was calm about it.. and I just remembered what had happened last time I got all 205 questions and I was like LORD, It's just a test I know I can take it again. And I am grateful that I don't have a limit on how many times I take it.. It's Not life or death. so anyways, My dad took me to eat. Went home and tried the pearsonvue trick. I got the good popup.. I was like Lord please let this be true.. I think i kep refreshing the page until my time had expired and I was refreshing again and again. just to see if it would still have the good pop up.. Well I couldnt sleep all night so I sat back down at the computer and was still checking to see if I got the good pop up or my name was on the BON site.. and around 12:22 pm My name appeared.. I PASSED!!!! :yeah:

I made myself sick about the pop up trick but it works!!! IT REALLY DOES!! It makes sense if you failed they obviously want you to pay to take it again and I didn't have too!! THANK YOU GOD! I am so happy!

But I took my test on the same exact date as last year december 29, different times, but was with my dad both times and I got all 205 questions.. God is good and YOU CAN PASS!!!! It doesn't matter how many questions you have!!

The first time I over studied and was nervous!

The second time I studied what They never tell you is on there like, Priority, who would require follow up care, Medication endings! etc.. And I passed!!!! I was calm.

I HOPE YOU ALL PASS IT AND REMEMBER IF YOU DON'T IT'S JUST A TEST ! THANK GOD WE ARE NOT LIMITED TO HOW MANY TIMES WE CAN TAKE IT!!!!!

Oh and the first time I studies I used Saunders 3rd Edition and Exam cram and Ati !

Second i used, Sauders and Davis and I also used a good book for Rns but it helped me with my test taking skills it breaks it down nicely.It helped me out Alot!! Test-Taking Stategies for the Nclex* Rn Exam! Edition & Hoefler!

Another piece of Advice don't tell too many people about the test, Too many people knowing causes to much pressure on you and that = STRESS!! try to avoid it!

Stress is definitely a bit factor in this exam, remember everyone you made it through nursing school so you do know your stuff, try to relax when answering questions and look at the question properly and try not to read too much into it.

I agree with you 100% I used my board for eliminating distractors.. But Im not going to lie to you.. I guessed on some ! it was very hard. I had lots of priority, Teaching, Followup care, Medications, had maybe 4 0r 5 isolation precautions and I also had one math and one question where you had to look at a patients chart.

I am extremely happy for you, thats wonderful new, especially for the New Year. You worked your butt off during school and studied and yes life happens. I firmly believe that everything happens for a reason and now its your time and go out there and save some lives. I think tests scare everyone, even simple tests. Well I cannot express how happy I am for you and I have to still go through nursing school myself and all that fun stuff. So when the day comes, wish me luck that I make it and do well.
