Hello. I passed my NCLEX-RN exam a couple of days ago Just wanted to thank the allnurses community for info/advice/support. Just wanted share some stuff, I did. Nothing really new, but if it helps guess that works.
Before Started Studying:
Having a good support group or having a constant reminder of why you are studying can help you in studying, it helped me persist even when I didn't feel like studying.
Stuyding ( material, etc. ):
1. Hurst:Hurst has a good overview of all the topics. I would reccomend this. It helps get the content down as well as thinking through the questions. I would reccomend doing the practice tests to help see where you are as well as understanding concepts and rationale. The 5th day material helped me with meds and infection control ( which is a good chunk of the test )
2. Kaplan Q-review- I had an old copy, but these are pretty good questions and they cover a good variety of topics. These tests helps see where you stand. It really showed how my studying was going and if I was making progress.
3. Saunders: Saunders is very comprehensive. I didn't really go through the whole thing, but if there was a concept I didn't understand, I would use it as a reference. I would recommend doing there SATA and order questions, it really helped me answer those type of questions.
4. NCLEX 10,000: I only used these questions for a while, but they were pretty good. Like everyone else says, the more questions you do the better. This gives you pretty good questions with rationales. It also shows you your weak areas and give questions based on that.
5. Hesi Comprehensive Revie Book: Like Saunders, this was a good reference for me to use. Also gives good tips to remember.
6. NCLEX allnurses study guide- I used this the week before. It is an amazing guide that gives a summary of all topics. It is really helpful. If you are able to find it, I would reccomend using it.
7. NCLEX Mastery App: I just used free questions, but like I said before the more practice you have the better.
8. Youtube- There are some youtubers that help remember nifty tricks and ways to remember material.
Some of them:
Day of the Exam :
1. Breathe/ Relax: While its hard to say to not be anxious/nervous, if you freak out too much you will blank out. The one thing everybody told me was the key to the test was to believe in your skills and have confidence. I didn't understand it till I was in the testing room, but its key.
2. Remember what I said before about support system/ motivation, I feel that played key for me to pass. I just remembered all the studying I did, and why I had to pass. It really carried me through the test. ( cheesy I know, but it worked for me, may work for you)
Conclusion: You don't have to use all the materials I used to pass. The main thing is to stay consistent with your studying and make your time count. Like I said before confidence is one of the key elements to passing. I was able to pass with around 80 questions in under 2 hours. Again thank you to the allnurses community and hope for the best to all who are planning on taking the NCLEX (PN and RN).

Congrats! I am waiting on my letter to test for the PN NCLEX. I have Exam Cram and Lippincott study guides, but found some more I am wanting to purchase. However, the total cost is almost $130. But, if it helps me pass and become licensed, it will be a small price to pay.
