Passed my Hesi Exit exam The nightmare is over

Published

Just a little background of this nightmare i went through that we call the hesi exit exam, I was in a 15 months accelerated course for LPN here in california , the school that i went to West coast ultra sound institute has a very very very high percentage of people passing the Nclex on the first time but that is because the course is almost impossible to complete at least in my opinion not only do you have to a regular class grade in theory which you must pass with a 80% yes 80% or you fail the class at the end of every term ( 5 terms) you have to take a ATI final exam about the topic that you learned on that term must pass it with a level 2 to go on if you get level one you have to retake the 3 months of that term, i managed to pass all my terms with level 2 one term was actually with level 3, after that you have to pass your clinicals with above a 75% and at the end of each term the teacher has a list of everything they you where taught and you must demonstrate it ( lots of people flunked that ) i managed to get by it and pass every term , now just when you thought it was over you have to take a HESI exit exam and get a 850 in my school you get 4 tries because there are 4 versions of the exam if you dont pass the 4th time you are pretty much screwed and wasted your 35k that it cost to attend that school and you will be left to pay that and have no nursing license no nothing, at my school we where never once told to open the HESI book so once the hesi exit came around every one in the class with the exception of 2 people out of 28 students passed the hesi exit the first time , i flunked it and i could not believe it because it just seemed so easy to me and i was sure i was getting all the questions correct well i was not and ended up getting a 780, i had to wait 2 and a half weeks to try it again so i told my self i will just read the Hesi PN book that we got at school i read the whole book in the time that was given to me and when the second HEsi attempt came about i scored even worse than my first attempt i was at shock and was at that point ready to throw in the towel and just take 1-2 months off and come back strong but then i thought about it and told my self " no you have to take it ASAP or you will forget everything " so the 3rd attempt i have to pay 50$ i did not study because at that point i had already read the book and did not know what to do so i went after another 2 weeks and took it for the third time and got a 800!!!!!!!! i could not believe it i wanted to scream and cry and just give up on life after i took my 3rd attempt i had to sign a contract that if i did not pass it the 4th time i would be dropped keep in mind i was allowed to walk at my graduation and i just started having really bad anxiety was getting 3-4 hours of sleep because of such anxiety my professor told me that if he was me he would take 1 month off and just relax study and come back for the final shot i said no i want to take it in one week i cant be waiting 2 weeks sorry and they gave me the ok i paid another 50 $ and took the test today ! i got a 966 and passed my hesi exit got my school diploma for finishing and sent in all my paperwork to take the nclex, all the people that i know say that Hesi is way harder than nclex by a long shot any how i just hope that if any one else is going through that dont give up and keep going !!!!. by the way all 4 versions of the test i got had completely different questions every single test i coldnt believe it i thought that maybe they would keep some of the questions from the previous tests but not for me, i am so relieved i feel like a ton of stress has been lifted of my shoulders anyhow good luck to all of you and dont give up!

It is extremely hard to read your post. Please use punctuation (commas, apostrophes, periods, etc) where appropriate, proper capitalization, and divide your post up into paragraphs.

Holy wall of text, Batman!

Now that's what I call a run-on sentence!!!

I hope you don't document care the way you write. If you manage to have to defend yourself in a court case for negligence, you would look really incompetent because of your writing.

Pick up a book on how to write clear, concise sentences at your local library while you study for the NCLEX-PN...

It will do you a whole lot of good.

Btw, congratulations on passing the exit exam!!!

What did you do to pass the 4th one? What was is like? Was most of it med Surg? I take the 4th version in a week. I'm freaked
