Congrats. I'm testing before graduation next month. Did you only try PSI and the APEA Qbank? Did you try board vitals or the fitzgerald bank with the review book? what about Liek?

I've heard APEA qbank is nothing like boards questions. Thoughts?

Oh no, I thought APEA qbank was a big help. I only did that and the review with Amelie and paid for a PSI practice test. Are you taking the AANP?

Oh, I forgot, I did review Leik's book. I have the one that is out of date though so it didn't have the new JNC guidelines. Study geriatrics, pregnancy, and sexually transmitted diseases. That seems to be what most of my questions were on.

I had some random questions that I felt like I literally had never before seen, but most of it I felt like I had at least seen somewhere and I was apparently able to take educated guesses. Anterior and posterior drawer test, a question about a "snuff box" injury? I had never heard of the snuff box thing, so look into that. There was also a random question about bruitt in the abdomen and high blood pressure. I still don't know if I got that one right. But a lot of them were on elderly, pregnant and infants with the majority on elderly.

Yes - I'll be taking AANP. Thanks for the tips. That's what I'm hearing from friends on content - lots of elderly and either heavy on pregnancy or peds. I have been doing the Qbank off and on since April along with my classes plus I'm doing Fitzgerald's review here in Dallas from 11/7 - 11/9 then doing APEA/Hollier in Houston from 11/12-11/14. Plan on studying hardcore the next week and testing the following Friday (black friday). Fingers crossed. I have the app for Liek on my phone which basically has all of her questions from the book. I'm yet to score below a 65% on any of the practice tests and I know the passing percentage for APEA is roughly 62.5% so I think I'll be ok. Just wondering what you've found to be MOST like their style.

Congratulations! I'm looking to become an FNP and am getting really confused by the process.

There seem to be so many pathways - accelerated BSN, MSN, and DNP programs. I can't really tell the difference between them and the most efficient route for someone who already has his B.S in Biology to become an FNP. What do you think?

Hmm. I would think the best way would be to do an accelerated BSN program and then work as a RN for a bit and go to school for your MSN. The nursing experience will benefit you in your job search for a NP job. That's just my opinion.

I think APEA is really representative of the content that is on the test. That helped the most with information. That and the APEA review course. The most helpful with test setup was the practice test from PSI.

OP - any chance you remember what you scored on the PSI? Thinking about taking it this week and curious what someone who passed boards scored so I can try to gauge. I'm hitting upper 70%'s on APEA 150 questions Qbank "Practice Tests" now so I think Im good - its just nice to check other measures.
