Huh. And here I thought South was another in that same category. Thank you for clearing that up. My admission process was fairly simple as well. I had to have 3 letters of recommendation too and at least a 3.5 Gpa I think. So I guess they weren't too lax.

I take offense to that. Just because I went to a for profit online program does not mean I didn't get an education. And my employer did not care one way or the other as long as I'm certified and licensed.

Hello, I went to South University and although I complained about it and whined about it, it's the best decision I could've made. Online programs are not without struggles, but you get out what you put in. I finished classes on 10/4, took my AANP exam and passed on 10/13 and had 2 np offers the same day. I just started my job and am waiting for my license, not very patiently! Anyway, good luck and I'm happy to answer any other questions you may have.

I was getting 70's and 80's on the APEA qbank. I want to say I got a 73-75 on the PSI practice exam. There were 2 questions I remember recognizing on the actual test that were directly from the PSI practice test. So well worth it in my opinion.

I think APEA is really representative of the content that is on the test. That helped the most with information. That and the APEA review course. The most helpful with test setup was the practice test from PSI.

Hmm. I would think the best way would be to do an accelerated BSN program and then work as a RN for a bit and go to school for your MSN. The nursing experience will benefit you in your job search for a NP job. That's just my opinion.

I had some random questions that I felt like I literally had never before seen, but most of it I felt like I had at least seen somewhere and I was apparently able to take educated guesses. Anterior and posterior drawer test, a question about a "snuff box" injury? I had never heard of the snuff box thing, so look into that. There was also a random question about bruitt in the abdomen and high blood pressure. I still don't know if I got that one right. But a lot of them were on elderly, pregnant and infants with the majority on elderly.

Oh, I forgot, I did review Leik's book. I have the one that is out of date though so it didn't have the new JNC guidelines. Study geriatrics, pregnancy, and sexually transmitted diseases. That seems to be what most of my questions were on.

Oh no, I thought APEA qbank was a big help. I only did that and the review with Amelie and paid for a PSI practice test. Are you taking the AANP?

I just wanted to let you all know that it is possible to take and pass your AANP exam without studying For months and months. I took it one week after I finished classes! Do the practice exam through PSI. There were a few questions on there directly from that. I also did the APEA qbank and review courses. Great investment. I had many questions on elderly patients and pregnancy. Good luck!!
