Hello to all- and thank you for the insight I get from your experience and questions. This post is really nothing but therapeutic for me today. I want to share that I passed my final exam and now am part of the senior class for next year. It has been a long journey. Unexpectedly single Mom to eight great kids. Had to get education to make a living. Nursing was a perfect fit for many reasons. But nursing school at 39 is the most difficult thing I have ever done!! Like many of you, burning the midnight oil to research patient assignments preparing for clinical, or to get those care plans/maps finished to pass in to the instructor...learning soooo much and loving it, but trying to find a reasonable balance of time management when our children need us equally as much (they only have one MOM...) Long story short- CONGRATULATIONS to those of you who have made it through another semester. Isn't it a personal journey as well as an academic journey? I love that! And I hate that...
And to those who may have to repeat the semester...as I had to last year. Everything happens for a reason. There may be people who impact your experience this time around that will make you a better nurse. Embrace it!
But for now, I'm going to have a good cleansing cry, give a silent salute to fellow nursing students everywhere, and continue on...
