I just passed this test w/a B today myself. Holy croutons, what a test is right! I feel like there was some divine intervention because I found myself guessing alot. I did really well on the small sections and not so well on the bigger sections, so I guess thats where my B came from :-)
I HIGHLY recommend the Vangonotes. I am planning to use them w/Micro too, hope I can bang that out in the next two weeks and then I will be in CPNE overdrive......
God I can't wait to have my life back :-)

good job to you both! Beachnurse, did you use anything else besides the vangnotes? Where did you get the vangnotes? Also, what info are you gonna use for the micro exam? Thanks in advance for your reply!
I mostly used the Vangonotes and the EC practice tests, also skimmed thru CliffsNotes A&P and also A&P for Dummies. I really have had the CPNE on the brain and I am just happy I passed, alot of overlap from the nursing exams on this test so I am glad that I had that in my corner. It is a difficult test. I really should have prepared myself better, but the Vangonotes are SO helpful--they broke down all the "tough topics" and all I wanted to hear during the test was that lady's voice.
You can make an account on audible.com and they are having a summer special right now, I got the A&P book for $7.95, and I got Micro for like $11.50 or something. I have the Vangonotes for Micro and also have purchased Microbiology DeMystified and the SG101 notes. I am going to try and cram in the next two weeks.
My best advice is to really know the percentages on the content guide and the ones that are smaller, really know those areas like the back of your hand. Someone posted this on the EPN and since I left all my studying to the last minute, that's what I did.... I aced the urinary, reproductive, fluids and electrolytes and overview of the human body, which made up for my 60%'s in the other areas.
moetlpn, whats next for you? lfdmedic, where are you in the program? :-)
Im just getting started, testing on transitions at end of month(talk about boring info), i have a and p, as well as micro, to complete as well; you are so much father than me..congrats! I enjoy reading your posts, quite helpful! I just cannot commit to a traditional brick and mortar, so this is virtually my only way to get my nursing done. Thanks for the info and good luck with your studies.
My next test is sociology, definitly cleping test at area community college. Hey beach you said you're taking your cpne in saratoga NY? if so I live in the area and i've heard alot of good reviews about the instructors there, actual one of them i have seen once or twice at saratoga hospital. She has a very nice personality and seems easy to work with.
The Sociology CLEP is not a bad exam at all, I just took this about a month ago. I used the REA book for it.
I am taking my CPNE in Syracuse, NY. I have never been, I do have a friend and a cousin that live there so I am hoping to meet up with them to see a familiar face.... the hospital makes mine look like a shack, it's so huge from the photos I have seen, I am so nervous!!!! 94 days left....
Yeah Transitions is so boring but it's good to get it over with!! That was my first one too :-) I thought I would never get to this point.... but once you get your momentum in the program, it goes by quicker than you think!
I would recommend to get rid of those non-nursing courses first, I made the choice of leaving almost half of my Gen Ed's until after I finished the nursing portion and now that I am studying for the CPNE I have been chipping away at them too, and I am really over doing it.. will be glad when I am done w/Micro so I can just focus on CPNE.
You will find alot of support and good advice here, and also on the FB site, I have made alot of great friends :-) Good luck with everything, let us know if we can help you! :-)
same book I'm using. If this takes the edge off, my co-worker tested at syracuse site and she loved it there, so much she is tring to get me to test there when i'm ready.

Congrats ladies:yeah:, I just looked up the vangonotes, which one did you purchase, because there are several of them? Are the ECE really $335? Thanks
The required text for this test is Fundamentals of A&P by Martini and Nath, that is the one you need. :-)
Yes, the EC A&P exam is $355 I believe.... but it's also worth 6 credits, so it's not such a bad price. The other nursing exams are $250.
Thank you, I just ordered it:)
