I want to share my story with everyone out there who thinks the CNO will not allow a 4th write. I graduated from BScN program in 2011, I wrote my exam 3 times and failed by just a few marks each time and thought my nursing dreams were over. It was my mothers idea for me to write the CNO a letter requesting a 4th attempt. I called the CNO and spoke with a lady who was extremely helpful she explained to me you cannot have a 4th write BUT you can request one of your exams to be "nulled". So I faxed a letter requesting another 3rd write. In the mean time I was filling out paper work to write my CPNRE (RPN exam). I received good news I was allowed to write my RPN exam and was granted a 2nd attempted on a 3rd write ( in other words a 4th write). I wrote my RPN exam in Oct 2013 and my RN exam in Nov 2013. I didn't tell anyone I was writing so I had no pressure or test anxiety and was success on both exams!
Seems like there are many people failing the CRNE 3 times. Is this a common occurrence?
I'm wondering as well. I've only ever met one person who failed it once. She even admitted she bombed because she was overconfident and didn't revise. Passed it on her 2nd try.
I do remember hearing of IENs failing more than once when my hospital did a mass recruitment. We thought it might be due to language issues.
I could defiantly see language as an issue- or being trained in other countries as there could be differences in content. Failing 3 times is quite concerning to me.
Thank you for being concerned. To be more specific I grew up in Halifax and graduated in ON/Toronto from a reputed University. Therefore it's not the language
hi Ontario.rn can I have your email address 'please
I would NOT say that the school didn't prepare me because quite often I get amazed by own intelligence as I think randomly about health issues and relevant information. The stats of the school that I graduated from isn't so good as the % of students who graduate fail more than they pass however I don't blame the school. I believe that if I made it through the program I knew how to know what was needed to qualify as an RN. Therefore I can simply say that there is something beyond my intellect that I can't understand over my failure on CRNE.
And for the email "sure" you can contact me at " [email protected]"
Cheers

Hello everyone
I have a question and I invite all who can advice me. I failed my CRNE 3 times. Guys you already know I don't have another choice but to move on so please advice me of other routes and areas ( of study) where a " registered Nursing Degree" can be utilized. I know the RPN route but let's get ahead and see what else is there out there for me. I am single lonely ,,, under huge debt and I have no where to go. Working a security guard through school was okay but it is a bit hard to look at now. Something inside hurts me all the time. I humbly ask for kind and sincere advices for maybe God may show me a way out to a better way.
