Passed CPNE at New York Hospital Queens

Published

Its obvious that I don't post much on here, but this site has been instrumental in my passing the CPNE this past weekend (June 25-27) at NYHQ with no repeats. A special thanks to Ivan and Lunarn for the notes and also ROBSCPNE. This week I will post a doc about my experience. Again, thanks to all on the site for their insights and help. More to come.

Thanks,

Lunah is correct they are dated and will need to be fixed and updated. Please also note..... if you will not be going to clinical until after Nov1 2011.... the 18th edition changes will be kicking in . And there are some major changes

Currently we have no plans to update the notes ... they're more about the study approach that Ivan used than the exact exam.

Thanx Lunah, These notes are amazing. I can't thank you enough. Anyway approaching the CPNE without first reading these notes are not themselves a favor. Read these notes to have a full and detailed understanding of the CPNE.

syringe and needle help!

when I try to pull on the plunger to draw up air the plunger suddenly sucks back in. If I detach the needle, draw up the air, I can't push the air through.

When I do try to draw up the medication from the vial, I get nothing and again the plunger just quickly sucks back in. What am I doing wrong? I can't get air in or medication out of the vial. This happens with both the 1 1/2 inch and 5/8 inch needle and syringe. I have no problem drawing up air when I detach the needle or use the adaptor, but once the needle is on it's impossible.

I know for the IM/Subq I'm going to need to know how to do this

Congratulations!!

I know it has been a long time since you posted this. However, I was wondering if you could give me some feedback on how your experience was there. Thank you!
