:redpinkhe Hi, I just wanna share my NCLEX experience to everyone...I recently retook my exam last March 3,2010...I got 75 questions and after 3 days of waiting I found my name on the Ca BRN website... I felt I was the happiest person alive after knowing that I PASSED!:yeah:and officially I can say that I am a Registered Nurse..
it wasn't an easy road along the way to passing..on my first try I did not make it, I think I would've made it if I wasn't all that stressed out the day before I took that test, I had encountered unexpected problems the day before taking the exam (Hotel accommodation problems, was not familiar w/ the place..etc..) and I really had a bad feeling about taking the test after that...when I got my results a month after since cali does not participate in quick results...I thought the whole world was on my shoulders and I didn't know what to do, it was a really tough time for me and my family knowing I failed that day..I would say I did not prepare too well for the exam when I first took it and I just wanted it to be over and done with..I didn't eat breakfast that day and I never took my breaks, and I finished all 265 questions in four hours coz' I just wanted to finish the test.
but then again, I thought maybe it was not the right time for me to pass that first try..and I did not prepare myself well enough..So, then I started reading again and I used Saunder's..but, don't fret of finishing the whole book..study at your own pace and don't rush on taking the test if you feel that you are not well prepared, so that you won't experience what most has experienced when not preparing for the test...I would recommend on focusing more on doing practice questions everyday...as much as you can, and also don't forget to review the answers after answering..read the rationales..coz' you will benefit from that..I finished answering the Exam Cram practice questions by Pearson and also read Kaplan's Strategies on how to answer nclex questions...
here are a few tips I did that worked for me and I hope will work for you guys too:
I took my break at question # 72 ...3 questions after my 2 minute break the computer shutdown and I thanked God...coz' I Know I did well...and I will PASS this time...and I DID PASS!
I wanted to share my story, so that, those who are taking the test for the first or Nth time...will not loose HOPE...as I said, You will pass at the right time...Prepare for it and PRAY! You will do well, if you feel more confident and well prepared...Good luck everyone and God Bless...:redpinkhe
