Finally, just before my head exploded from studying, writing papers, and precepting. I've been listening to the Barkley and Fitzgerald CD's for over a year then went to a Barkley live course last week.
The test was pretty easy however I could have passed by one question I guess, lol. I have to give kudos to Dr. Barkley, he pretty much gave some questions almost verbatim as what was on the test. And his book is an excellent resource.
I'm active in an APRN organization in San Antonio and look forward to participating in activities to advance NP's in my state.

I am happy to add my victory message to those of others who have passed the AANP. I passed last week. I studied for a three-week period, also continuing to work two 12-hour shifts per week, so that left five days weekly for studying. Of the total 14 days available to study, I managed to study all day for 11 of them. So I really crammed. I read the Fitzgerald and Leik books and listened to the Fitzgerald videos online.
I am glad I studied as hard as I did, because the test was difficult. The questions are somewhat convoluted and have several pieces, so there are several steps in analysis and if you make a mistake anywhere along the line you will miss the question.
I did not receive my score yet which will be mailed to me, however, I don't think I passed by a whole lot! Good luck to everyone else taking the test this month.
