Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I believe we should be getting an update regarding our application status soon. Their website says we should be notified 10 weeks from the end of applications so that is around the middle of October.

Good luck to us all!

Haha, yup! That's only the 1/2 of my journey. Congrats to you also!! ^_^ I would PM you, but the website doesn't allow me to yet. And yes, keep me posted on whether you hear from any other schools or not or what you choose.

I received the same email. I was told the orientation is no longer in person, but rather online now!

Woah, really? I wish it was in person so we can start getting to meet students and faculty. Hm, this will be interesting.

Have alternates for the generic RN program been notified?

Best of luck! I know some students were accepted very last minute, like a week before school started so there's hope.

As for me, I'm anxiously waiting for the paperwork!!

Thank you!! Yes how exciting!! Congratulations

Hi everyone! I am also an alternate! I hope I get into a nursing program soon! I've applied to 4 schools and have been waitlisted or put in a random pool to potentially be selected if i'm luckyí ½í¸ª congrats to you all that have been selected!!!!

Congrats! I have been applying to ABSN and BSN Programs as well! I also got into PCC and LACC. Im trying to decided which one to choose.

Does anyone know the difference between the accreditations of the schools and how that effects on getting a job?

As well as the CSU Bridge Program having a previous degree? one counselor told me that they don't accept students with a previous bachelor's into the program. I tried to get a hold of CSULA to see what they said but I could not get a hold of anyone. i was wondering if anyone else knew anything or who I could talk to

Community college programs have state accreditation and universities have national accreditation. Don't worry about it too much just know that they're accredited and it'll allow you to take the NCLEX.

As for the ADN-BSN collab program at CSULA, they accept students with previous bachelors. I know a few people in that program who already have their BS/BA already. It may not be a wise option to go this route though if you start nursing school in Spring as opposed to Fall.

You would essentially waste a semester while studying for the NCLEX, take summer 2 at CSULA, then the year long sequence at CSULA. You'll lose your "new grad" status by then. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure on this.

Hey @RebeccaRN90! @Tajin mentioned some good information, but to add onto that, I do know that CSUN is one of the CSUs that doesn't accept students into their ADN to BSN program with a previous BS/BA because my cousin told me. He's in the nursing program at Pierce and is disqualified for that. CSULA should be fine though. I looked over their brochure for their ADN to BSN program, and it didn't specify anything like that, whereas CSUN's does. Hope this was a bit helpful. I think it's wise to continue trying to contact CSULA and ask them all the questions you need. And please share with us also! ;D I actually am in the same-ish boat as you. ;]

Thank yo so much for all of the information! That was very helpful!

I was worried about the accreditation because I thought it had to be by ACEN as well as by the state since I know some CC's are accredited by ACEN
