Pasadena City College Spring 2018

Published

I believe we should be getting an update regarding our application status soon. Their website says we should be notified 10 weeks from the end of applications so that is around the middle of October.

Good luck to us all!

I didn't see a counselor. But I spoke with the Nursing office and the woman said that those are not mandatory in order to apply. If you already have an associate's degree, or higher (which I already have an associates) then you may not even need to do a political science class.

I thought the deadline was February 28th? Which would make May 10th the 10 week mark?

Hello~

This is questions to those who got into the nursing program, does anyone know what the cut off points were for the semester you applied too? I plan on applying for Spring 2019 and trying to get as much info as possible. Thank you in advance.

I received an email today that I was chosen as an Alternate so fingers crossed!!

As an alternate did you end up getting into the program for that semester? do you know what number you were on the Alternate list? if you're in the program now, how is it? I'm waiting to hear about the fall 2018 program but the wait is killing me!

I didn't end up getting in, unfortunately! They don't give you a alternate number. You just get a date your alternate status ends and if you don't hear from then by that date then you're not in.

Good luck to you!!

@jess.m3 That's one of the big questions that I wish we would get an answer to.

Hi!! I'm now in the same boat as you were, but for the Fall 18 cohort. As an alternate did you end up getting into the program for that semester? do you know what number you were on the Alternate list?

Unfortunately they don't give you an "alternate number". You either get in or you don't...in which case you need to reapply next semester. They will give you a date in which your alternate status expires. Good luck! :) I was chose as an alterate for the LVN-RN program but didn't get it. I plan to reapply again in September.

Hi, I just got accepted for fall 2018 and want to ask you guys a question since you have been through this recently.

Where did you get your Med-Surge Nursing books from - lippincott website or amazon (purchase or rent?), or somewhere else? I notice they have to be accessible from thePoint (not sure what that is yet), would it still work if I bought it on amazon? Is the book supposed to come with access codes and can i only get the access codes if I purchase from Lippincott? Did any of you purchase the study guide and find it useful or pass? Thanks for any advice you can provide me. I will probably have more questions after this, haha

MORE QUESTIONS! We haven't been cleared to register for our fall classes yet but I'm really confused about how the registration process works. Do students get to choose our class schedule as we did with pre-requisites (whatever schedule works for us), or are we assigned (we don't get a choice)? How are clinical assigned? Is there a choice of 2-3 clinical schedules that we can pick, or is it just handed to you and you don't get a choice? I'm trying to figure out how to keep my nannying job through my first semester of nursing school, but classes are less than a month away and I have no idea what to tell my employers about my upcoming availability.
