Pasadena City College RN Program Spring 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Is anyone planning on applying for the Spring 2019 semester (due October 1-31)? The new applications are up!

Hopefully we all will be celebrating an acceptance in the next few months. Good luck to all!

I think it was out of 100 before as well, PinkC.

Yes, the old point system was out of 100 as well. I was working towards an AA degree for 5 points, and also volunteer for 2 points... then they changed it.

My current stats:

Science gpa 4.0: 25 points

TEAS 91.3 (2nd attempt-computer version): 25 points

Completion of relevant coursework: 30 points

Life experience: 3 points

2nd language- ASL: 2 points

Total: 85 points

I am really hoping to get accepted to either Rio Hondo or PCC because the commute would be most ideal, and I'm eager to get started with a program!

But if not, then I'm going to try LA County CONAH for Fall 2019.

Just curious what other schools everyone is applying to?

Hi all,

How did you figure out how many points you added for each class for the prerequisites? It says the max is 25 points, but on the application it says A=4pt, B=3pts, C=2pts. There are only five classes, so technically with what they say the max should be 20 points if you get an A in all classes, not 25. I'm so confused!

Wow great stats!

I've applied to Mt. Sac, PCC, and Evergreen (in NorCal) and College of Nursing and Allied Health (CONAH).

For the PCC application were you able to type in your name at the end or just signed it? It did not let me type my name in so I signed it. Just wondering if anyone else had the same issue.

@fellytubby its 25 points if you have a 4.0 GPA. You take A=4, B=3, C=2 and use that to calculate a GPA. So if you have out of the 5 classes A,B,C,A,C (4+3+2+4+2=15) Then take the 15/5 (5 units|classes) 15/5=3.0 which is 15 points for 3.0-3.4.

Please someone correct me if I am wrong lol because I was confused with this too. I was using the amount that was given to me on my transcripts. Then I saw A=4 B=3... so I changed it.

Hope this helps..

It's a little more complicated. They have a link to a GPA calculator on the nursing website now so definitely plug in your grades and the number of units. It's much easier.

@Armani

I just signed it after printing out the typed application.

Thanks, @Armani! And yes, for Category 1, I'd do the link that was provided on the website that @Bosoxgirl3358 mentioned, since that one takes into account the +'s and -'s of letter grades for the total prereq GPA.

Anyone notice that in Category 5 for life experiences, there's an automatic 3 on the line? Was that on purpose? Do we include it in our score if we don't have any points to add...?

Yes you automatically add 3 points! It's a freebie for everyone =) At least that's what my counselor told me.

That's awesome! Thanks @lchang14!!!!! :)

Do we have to submit the ati teas official transcript prior to applying? I know some schools ask to send the official once accepted.

Hi PinkC =) Yes, you'll need an official copy sent to PCC along with a printout of the TEAS transcript submitted with your application.
