i got in as an alternate at pcc.... so this woman called me to tell me that a position opened up and if i'm interested to call her back and i did except it was the answering machine.. so i have to go on orientation on monday and hope to see what happens. i'm also worried about my background check because i have one record on there that happened a year ago (misdemeanor) and i'm worried they might not consider me. i'm also worried about the entrance exam... does anyone know whats on it and how hard it is?
i also applied to msmc and i got in.. except i'm worried about the price and the low passing rate for the nclex exams.. i really dont mind having loans to pay if that means i'll be going to a good or better school except why is the passing rate only 66% at msmc compared to pcc which is 94% when one is a private school with a good reputation and the other is a community college?
does anyone know where clinicals are held for these schools? kaiser, good sam, huntington hospital?
PCC said they have had several people decline the offer to go there, so alternates have a good chance. The test is the TEAS test. You can read about it on other threads here. You can get study materials online for it. RE: background check. I have no idea. maybe someone else does. Kitten79 goes there and can probably tell you about the clinical sites if you PM her.
Hey I was just wondering what happened to you did you ever get into the program? Right now I am faced with the same situation, I was chosen as an alternate and I wonder if there's still a chance of me getting in. BTW how any people do they accept into their program? and It is not a lottery right?
Alternates do have a chance to get in; like they said before, some people decide to choose other school so spots open up. When I started the program, we had about 65 students. I think PCC is a lottery, I dunno how they're doing it anymore. But I got in for the semester I wanted without waiting, so I guess it's all on luck and prayer. I know for sure they have entrance exams now, so youre REQUIRED to pass those to actually START the program.
i have been accepted to bridge over. someone called me as well and let me know that a space opened up so they called me. i faxed over the letter of intent today. is there anyone on here who is bridging over (lvn-rn)??? or is there anyone who is going into their 3rd semster? how smooth is the program overall and what are the clinical hours like??? just curious.
