Pasadena City College Fall 2014 Application

I applied at PCC for their fall 2014 generic application and is just curious if anyone who has applied received any acceptance emails yet? Also I was told that if I have not taken the TEAS yet and if accepted to the program I have two weeks to take it. Is it best to take it before knowing if you're in the program or wait until the acceptance email?

I am holding my breath! A friend of mine last year accepted both PCC and GCC and gave up her spot at PCC the day of orientation. I'm really hoping others do the same!

Do you know when the last day to register for classes is (ie: people have to secure their spot)?

I've been told all the way through the first week of the program it's still possible! So don't give up!

Hi, do you mind giving us alternates the important details of yesterdays orientation? Just in case if any of us get a call weeks before class starts we have an idea. I feel like they should've included the alternates in the orientation so not everything is rushed when prepping for nursing school. Then again they told me a couple weeks back that they had chosen 100 alternates this time around so that would be too many people in one room! Thank you!

Yeah, I was surprised as well! I'm guessing they want to be safe that all spots are filled.

Hey sure! The most important key they kept going over was time management. The number of hours we need or is recommended rather... to study outside of school and clinical's are 60 hours! If you're a full time employee get ready to go part time or quit. Reading ahead of time is key and repetition is also so read and reread until you understand. It's not about memorization but about how SMART you study. They went over the nursing packet that contains everything we need to get done including background checks and immunizations etc. they also went over financial aid and books and uniforms. There was a lot of information... It was a bit overwhelming ?

I'm an alternate for this fall 2014, but time is running out. So, i've decided to apply for the spring 2015 class. Does anyone know if us alternates have a better chance of getting in this time around?

Chances are since it's still lottery based regardless...you have the same chance of getting in as your previous application.
