Pasadena City College ADN Fall 2023

Published

Hey Everyone! Just thought I'd make a thread for PCC's Fall 2023 ADN applicants. This is my first time applying and applications open up the week of April 1 - April 15. I have also applied to other schools like College of the Canyons, Pierce College, Glendale College, Antelope Valley College, Butte College. I wish everyone the best of luck!

I received an email in April from the Health Sciences department asking to email my official transcripts because they were unable to download the ones attached to my application. I emailed my transcripts, and the next day, I was told they were able to open them just fine. Then fast forward to today (2 months later!), I get the same email from the SAME person stating the transcripts attached to my application couldn't be downloaded and to please send them to her by Thursday. I forwarded her the email I sent her back in April with my transcripts attached. What's going on with them? Has this happened to anyone else? *scratching my head*

I think they have some problem in applications. Website had a problem so app was opened 4 days later. Even in the workshop, I remember one instructor was going over the applications and she was saying the last part(selecting G.E option) wasnt updated or sth...and there were some students complaining they couldnt hear back anything from the department on last cycle. I was expecting to hear back soon because they released result for their lvn program.., but now I feel like something is going wrong on their admission process so I accepted my offer for lvn yesterday.

Hi All,

My friend emailed the health sciences department and received this response today:

"We hope to have all announcements completed within the next couple of weeks."

This is honestly so ridiculous at this point.

That's wild it's taking this long, but hopefully that will help out the people who really need to get in. I unfortunately couldn't wait any longer to possibly get in, so I accepted somewhere else weeks ago. How they think we could wait this long is crazy to me.

I even found out they cancelled all the workshops for ADN and lvn-ADN career ladder program. It's really unusual this year and probably selecting student for fall 2023 is already overwhelming for them.., they couldn't proceed next cycle's workshop.

I was hoping to go to PCCs program but also just decided to follow through with another school that accepted me because they have deadlines coming up, so can't wait for their decision.

that's not cool, why say 8-10 weeks if its going to take more like 11- 13 weeks? thats insane, at least post on the website that you guys are delayed and need more time. or something..the waiting is ridiculous, so pretty much end of July? such a short amount of time to prepare if we start in August.

Honestly, PCC has showed they're very unorganized and they're NCLEX scores are pretty low. If you can, go else where!!

I'm going to be out like $300 if I go to PCC over ELAC. ??

I looked at the fall 2023 schedule in the system and it looks like the 2nd semester lectures and forward are all online? With the labs still being in person. Does anyone know someone in the program who can confirm?  That would be one of the few reasons I'd choose PCC if I got in. Thanks!

Just curious but what is everyones points?
