Pasadena City College ADN Fall 2023

Published

Hey Everyone! Just thought I'd make a thread for PCC's Fall 2023 ADN applicants. This is my first time applying and applications open up the week of April 1 - April 15. I have also applied to other schools like College of the Canyons, Pierce College, Glendale College, Antelope Valley College, Butte College. I wish everyone the best of luck!

I don't mind at all, so far I know that mt sacs program does not let you use a calculator on the TEAS or during the first semester of the program.

Also, I think we start the semester off getting a minute and a half per question on exams and as the program progresses, it gets to about a minute per question. We also will be starting the program off doing clinicals at school and after 4 weeks we will start going to a nursing home.

Thats about all I can think of so far.

I am not suprised that MT. SAC would make it more difficult than it needs to be during nursing school. I applied there and got in but withdrew since it was about 45 minutes away from me. I attended MT.SAC a couple years ago and most of their cognate courses for CSU transfers required more busy work and studying. I have no doubt that you will do great since they picked you though! It's hard to get in to MT.SAC nursing, you've already made such a big accomplishment!

As far as ELAC they mentioned we will be having an 8 week class during the first semester one 16 week class throughout the whole semester, and a 8-week class for the second half of the semester. Clinicals were talked about but they didn't mention a set schedule, all they told us was the shifts would be anywhere from 8-12 hours clinical shifts. I will ask them about calculators being used on tests. Their exam pass rate must also be 76% or higher, failure to pass the first semester on all exams with 76% or higher means you get dropped. But afterward, all the other semesters you will get a second chance if you fail a test.

Do you know if you guys will also be taking ATI tests throughout the semester on top of your exams?

Still waiting on PCC like

Hi, did you happen to call? Does anyone happen to know which phone number is best to call? I might have a friend call. Thanks!

I did not, I was just going off of their 10-week timeline. ?‍♂️

The best number to call is probably the Health Sciences Division Number listed on the website: (626) 585-3378

Ugh. That's a bummer. It's been 10 weeks already. ? I was really looking forward to hearing something back this week. Oh well.
