You hit the quote button, and delete out what you don't want. Just make sure the brackets around the quote stay there.
Yep, that is what I do . . . .but how do people like Roy and Siri and others quote so many people in one post?steph
You hit the plus sign next to the quote button, and it will turn red. When you are ready you can just hit the reply button at the bottom left of the page...
steph,
hit the "multiquote" lower right. it will turn red. click on as many as you want. once you are finished doing that, hit, "post reply" lower left and it will load up all quotes. if you are quoting on one page and want to continue quoting the next page (like in the gm thread), after you've hit the multiquote on one page, go to the next page, continue with the mulitquote and then hit post reply. cool feature.
to the op, you can also copy and paste a portion of someones quote if you do not want to click the quote. once you do that, click on this icon
and paste what you've copied between the brackets.

I notice some people are able to quote only a portion of what a person's written, rather than the entire post. How do you do it?
