Parkland ER Residency Feb 2017

U.S.A. Texas

It seems like every residency class has had a thread on here except for ours so I figured I would make a thread for those accepted into Parklands ER residency for Feb 2017!

For those that have accepted the offer, does anyone know when we get the actual contract for the job? I have only accepted the offer on my parkland profile.

Does anyone know ehn we get more info about orientation? I haven't recieved anything since my health occupation appointment.

Nothing to do with the topic, but I figure since y'all are going to be in Parkland's ED soon someone might know something ;)

Does anyone know what type of scheduling the nurses in the ED have? Do they have set assigned shifts or self-scheduling?

I talked to Veronica today and she said she will be sending the info out during the week before we start.

Squishy, scheduling here is based on rotors usually with alternating weekends. After gaining seniority you can self-schedule.

Does anybody remember the schedule they showed us at our interview(presumably starting after residency)? I took a picture of it but lost it! Its like Mon-Thursday one week and then Friday-Sunday the next right?

Yummylasagna, I took a pic of it, but for some reason it won't let me upload it on here. What is your email and I can send it to you.

You're welcome! Sending it now!

Quick question. When does Parkland offer residencies? I know most place only have residencies on Feb, July and October. I tried searching online, but was not able to find any info. Thank you!

Does anyone know of any ADN's who were accepted to a Parkland residency? Their job post does not specify requiring a BSN, although I know at most hospitals it's desired...... thanks!!

Hey! How is everyone liking Parkland ED so far?? I have an interview for their residency program next Wednesday so I was just curious... I am a med/surg nurse right now so I have never been in the ED. Looking forward to the change!!! Does anyone have any tips on the interview or job process?
