I put my application in today. Does anyone have some insight into how many people apply and how many spots are available? I know it's very competitive ......what a dream opportunity though, it can't hurt to at least try
@ ijuanabhappy a good friend of mine just interviewed for the OR last Wednesday they told him they were gonna wrap up interviews this week and send out offers early next week.Hope this helps.
@ ARMY-RN another friend of mine interviewed for MICU this past Friday. He works at Parkland as a PCT so I don't know if that might have helped him get an interview. I'm sure it did. Anyways, Parkland is not picky regarding the ADN vs BSN thing.I'm graduating from an ADN program and many of my classmates have gotten interviews and job offers from Parkland.
Thanks gaby3187, It looks like I applied on 4/26. Still shows "applied". I've called HR, but nobody has been that helpful. All they say is if the posting is still showing up, they are still hiring for it. Can't tell me if and when interviews have started. Thanks for that info. I'm an ADN right now but in the process of getting my BSN through UT Arlington. The system to apply online is not that user-friendly. I couldn't attach my awesome, O.R.-geared cover letter to the application. I figured out how to go back into my account after I applied, and add a cover letter, but it's not attached to my OR app and not sure they will see it.
Okay! It has been made. Just do a search in Facebook for the group, it's called "Parkland Critical Care and Trauma Internship August 2013". Let me know if any of you have issues finding it.
I just sent you a friend request Courtney and requested to be "added" to the group you created.
... Alan.

Yes, ADNs DO work in critical care. Only the cc trauma rotation is closed to ADNs.
