Hi all,
I'm somewhat new to this forum. I applied to Parkland's MICU and SICU residency. I've already received the email saying my apps were forwarded to the hiring manager. I'm looking for any info on what the hiring process is like, far as, how long after receiving the email did you get an interview and also any info on how the residency works. My dream is either to get into the ED or one of the critical care areas. I know this would be a great opportunity to be employed at a Level I trauma center. Any advice, tips, connections and info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Hey guys,
I also applied to all the positions that parkland had opened, maybe that would increase my chances, i am currently desperately in need of a job so any offer right now will be great.
I have also got the email about "application under review', i just hope to get a call soon, good luck to us all.
WOW!! Theres others out there waiting too?! LoL J/K I am so glad you decided to join us in the wait! The waiting is sooo sooo soooo hard and now that August is approaching. I think that its just that much more intense! MEDSURGER you said your friends say its a good sign? I would like to know when they are going to start the interview process but its like pulling teeth to get any information. Sending good luck vibes to everyone.
I applied for the L&D residency starting in Spetember and got a call for an interview yesterday. They are conducting interviews next week, and the nurse recruiter told me they will be hiring 10 people and will probably interview close to 50. Each department, I believe, has a separate recruiter that works on thier own schedule, so I can only speak to the L&D residency timeline, I don't know when the other recruiters will be calling to schedule interviews.
However, I also heard they will be starting at the beginning of September, so I would imagine all deparments will be interviewing soon, if not already! Best wishes to you all...its rough out there but if we dont give up, we will all get jobs eventually!
Yea.. the waiting game totally sucks. I applied for over 20 jobs at Parkland over the last few months and didn't get one interview. I recently applied for the ED residency for 2012 around july 17th or 19th and... drum roll please.... i just got contacted for an INTERVIEW!!!! yay.. My interview is scheduled for tuesday along with a math exam. As far as the CC residencies.. the recruiter said that the interviews for ED were only going to go on for 1 week. August 7 -13th. Hopefully you guys hear something back by then.. if not then at least you know. Does anybody have tips for what to expect in the interviews?? They are only 15 minutes long. Best of luck to everyone.. don't lose hope :) I will post an update on here after the interview as far as questions asked.
Im interviewing on Tuesday as well for the ED residency. Far as the interview goes I haven't heard anything about it besides the 15 minute intervals. Hopefully, we learn more about it during the interview. I hope everyone at least can get one of the critical care spots and look forward to working next month. I'm so ready to start working. All this idle time is driving me bananas lol

Hello my fellow Eager-Ladies-in-Waiting! :)
I applied in early July and I have received the "your application is under review" e-mail about 8 times. In fact, I have one sitting in my inbox sent about an hour ago; plus I just received one yesterday that said it is "still under review." According to current friends in SICU, NICU, L&D, and OR- this is a good sign. They all received multiple e-mails stating the same or similar things.
I will update when I hear anything new! Please do the same!
While I want a residency position, I hope the best for all of you and I hope to hear of good news for any of you!
