Parking Around Columbia Presbyterian Hospital?

Hi all, I'm considering a position (the Nursing Attendant for BSN students) at NYP-Columbia, and one consideration would be the parking situation. At my current job, there is street parking, and while it can be somewhat of a hassle, if you give yourself enough time you'll get a spot, even if it is a few blocks away from the hospital. Does anyone know what the situation is like at NYP-Columbia? The interview is in another week so I'll see then, but I'd just like an idea before that if possible. Taking public transportation, it looks like it would take around 1.25 hours to get there (I'd be coming from the LI/Queens border area).

Thanks!

They have a parking garage right next to the hospital. Good luck with street parking, it will take you so long to find something its not even worth it. Just use the parking garage.

Be aware however that the parking garage is quite pricey. I don't need to use the garage but I hear it's about $30 daily.

Thanks to both of you. Guess if I'm actually offered the job I'll have to figure out the best way to commute there...

Hi I too have an interview schedule with NYP and live in long island, did you ever figure out what way of transportation worked best for you?

I drive. Best place to park would be on Riverside Drive. Depending on the day/time it may take you some time to find a spot, and you may have to walk a good distance, but I've been parking there for awhile now. There is an employee discount with the garage, but I'd rather save my money even if I have to park a little far. Others take public transportation, but I don't have patience for that. Good luck.

Thank you, I think driving wise would be the best option for me. i was thinking of doing night shifts, would you say parking is easier to find at nights ?
