Members are discussing the status of their job applications at Palomar, specifically inquiring about the meaning of different application statuses and sharing their experiences with interviews and job offers. Some members have received rejection notices, while others are still waiting to hear back after interviews. There is also discussion about interview preparation and the types of questions asked during interviews.
Hello Everyone!
Starting a thread for those applying to the Palomar Health New Grad Nurse Residency that begins October 2024.
Applications are currently open (July 2024)
Does anyone have information on the requirements listed. (For example, ACLS is required for some units, do we need to have that at time of application or by the start date?)
yeah I guess they're really big on keeping people so you can, I think my friend said she had been there for 2 months. So the spots already filled as far as I know
lendew03 said:It was for the Escondido Neuro Acute unit. I just checked the Jobvite pages and apparently one of the Neuro Acute positions (Day or Night) is now "closed" while the other is "New". Pretty sure closed = filled. We will see.
I hope you get it! I have an interview at Escondido later this week and was wondering if the questions were typical behavioral questions or any clinical scenarios?

I'm sure every hiring manager has a different set of questions. For me, I essentially had no clinical scenarios; I had mainly behavior and character stuff. "Give me three words that describe you" "How and why did you get into healthcare" "Why Palomar" "What would be the hardest thing about your first year, and what would you be the best at?" Stuff like that.

Amazing thank you!

I didn't realize someone could change units once that started the new grad program. Is this a common practice? If so, that gets my wheels turning.
