Whoops, meant to hit quote and hit thanks. lol I heard it referred to as the recovery room when I had my son in 2005. Is it really that rare to call it that anymore?

I think you may be referring to "the recovery room" after having a child, which I believe is not actually the same as the PACU of today. I think an L&D nurse that has had training in recovery monitors women after C-sections.

The PACU is where people recover immediately after surgery until they are awake and stable enough to either go to the ICU, floor, or home if it is an outpatient facility. PACU postions generally require a year or two of critical care nursing.
