Pacific Lutheran University (PLU) BSN 2018-2019

Published

Hello! After reading multiple posts I haven't seen anything about the 2018-2019 applications for PLU's SoN.

I have submitted my application, has anyone else?? Feel free to comment!

Congratulations to those of you who got accepted! That's amazing you heard back so soon! Do you guys mind sharing when you guys submitted your applications?

Sorry for the late response. I subtitled my application before the priority deadline in February. I received my acceptance letter a couple days after I got the email.

congratulations futurebsn_EB !!! I know you had been waiting for this nerve wracking moment !! See I told you your essays were going to be okay! Im glad you got into your dream school. I am very happy for you !

Thank you so much! I can't wait. I hope you get some answers soon. I know how stressful it is waiting.

When I went to the information session she informed me that I might not find out until the very end of June because I am still taking Anatomy&Physiology2 and they want a final grade. She also said theres a chance I could of been rejected and just never received the letter but I'm not even claiming that negativity. I choose to think that they're waiting to see if I pass A&P2 or not. Have you gotten your classes or anything yet? Im living through you lol,

Has anyone else heard back yet? I am still waiting but a lady I talked to at the information session said I probably wouldn't hear back until the end of June since I am still taking A&P2.

Thank you for commenting! You definitely just eased some of my nerves. How is it so far? Are you enjoying it?

No problem! Sorry for not replying sooner--it didn't give me a notification! Honestly, I'm enjoying it, and it's so worth it, but time management is so important. Lots of projects, exams and stuff to work on. But the time flies by so fast, which is great!

Last year, I got my letter in late April (I took A&P 2 during winter quarter) and I think they might wait on us in-progress folks for a reason. Pathophysiology is genuinely tough, even for students who came in with 3.9-4.0 grades. I've been told it's more medical-style than other programs. They expect you to know your A&P, and you'll spend a majority of your time on it. (If everything works out, please do a lot of reviewing before semester 2!! You'll thank yourself later!)

Its okay thanks for even replying to me. I am pretty good with time management, I'm a pretty organized person so I'm not really nervous about that aspect. I haven't gotten a rejection or acceptance letter yet, thinking theyre waiting on my AP2 grade which ill have in June. Im currently attending TCC for my DTA. Thank you for the advice on pathophysiology I've heard a lot of people say its difficult. Are you minoring in anything else?

Those skills will definitely help you. :) And very cool! One of my classmates came from TCC. Best of luck, and keep your head up! The wait feels like forever, but you'll know soon enough.

I thought about minoring in chem or bio, but I changed my mind as soon as I realized how much time I need to dedicate to nursing classes. This semester, there's somewhere around 14 or so exams between my 3 classes.

Thank you I definitely will.

what was your first semester like? You only that one nursing class, nursing competencies or something like that right? How was that?

First semester was fun! Everyone really makes you feel special and welcome. Yup, there was only one nursing class. It felt like an extended intro to nursing, ethics, research, basic care, etc. If you have CNA experience, the hands-on part (lab/clinical) is pretty much review. I took a required religion class and language class since 12-17 credits is a financial aid requirement.

I do not have any CNA experience so the class would be new for me. I do volunteer but never had a job in the medical field. I would take the required religion course but I'm having trouble thinking about what else I could take although I haven't even been accepted in the nursing program yet lol

Hello all! I notice that many are anxiously awaiting news on their apps...I applied last year at the last min May 1 and received word at the same time as my friends...last week of June. Out of ten that applied (my friends and classmates) 9 were rejected. I was waitlisted. I do not think GPA matters as mine was a 3.94 and two of my friends who were rejected were a 3.95. I never received an email...only a waitlist letter. I also never received a letter saying I did not get pulled from said waitlist. When I called the SON I was told that they kept only three on the list and I was one. I did reapply this year but wanted to impart some advice and say don't stress it! We've got almost 2 months left to hear! I have also decided to not go into nursing so if I am accepted...someone will get my spot!

Thank You for your comment snuggles. That eased my nerves a lot. Why did you decide to not go into nursing anymore?
