Hi everyone! This is my first post after lurking and reading posts for over a year. My reason for posting now is because I haven't seen anything here about the current application cycle for Pacific Lutheran University's BSN program. It's located in Tacoma, WA!
My application was received by PLU on the very last day of 2016, and they sent me an email 5 days later saying they needed one more LOR and formal admission to the university. I checked in with my instructor again, and she sent the LOR very shortly after. I also got a letter from admissions saying I was admitted with a great academic scholarship just a bit smaller than the Provost. Yay!!
As of right now, I have a 3.93 cumulative GPA, 3.96 college level GPA and 3.975 in the pre-reqs. I'm also a CNA with over 3 years of experience in long-term care. I'm almost done with a pre-nursing direct transfer agreement at Green River: currently taking AP 2, Chem& 121 and two humanities/fine arts electives. In a couple weeks, I'll be registering for Microbiology, Chem&131 and two more electives for Spring quarter to finish up the degree. I guess in the meantime, I'll prepare for the long wait and keep up on my grades.

I called because i really needed to know if they have sent out all the letters yet and I guess not. she told me by the end of the week gosh this wait is hard but I guess it is almost over!
Aswedberg I completely understand!! I too have been checking the mail nonstop and there still has been no news for me which is really frustrating but since we applied before the priority deadline I am sure that we will hear back by this week. This wait is absolutely killing me!!!
aswedberg I'm glad you called to find out if all letters had been sent. I was debating doing the same.
Creamie I am getting frustrated right along with you! Still nothing for me either. Hopefully today will be the day for us and we won't have to wait until Friday or Monday to hear some news!!
I turned my letter of acceptance into the Nursing Department yesterday and was informed that I will begin spring semester. As an LPN with experience, I have completed requirements and do not need to take the Nursing 220 class. So hopefully we all will bridge in one way or the other and share in this wonderful cohort experience. See you all soon, inbox me if you'd like to chat. ***Stay Blessed!!!***
So I heard back and I am put on the waitlist for spring which is better than a letter of rejection :) Ms.LPN2013 I saw that you were put on PLU's waitlist for last year could you tell me more of how that process works? Thanks!!
Creamie happy to hear you got some news! Hopefully with all of the moving around you will soon get a call for acceptance. I am still waiting í ½í¸³. Hopefully today I will hear something!!
Congratulations!!!!! Being on the waitlist means that you will be waiting for another accepted nursing student to either keep or drop there spot in the cohort. It can be nerve racking at times just the (not knowing) but you never know what is in store for you. Now from what I recall the school of nursing does not have the waitlisters in order by number so I'm unsure how the selection process for the waitlisters goes? All I know is that you have made it this far and were selected from a group of 400 applicants, that's definitely worth celebrating!!! If I can remember correctly, the allowment of perspective students on the waitlist was 20 when I was placed on the waitlist. This may have changed, I'm not sure? The school of nursing will keep in contact with you via email and or by mail so you wont need to worry, just monitor your email. I hope this could give you some peace of mind, I pray for your acceptance.
Sdustin- thank you!! I actually ended up emailing the SoN. I also emailed them on June 28th at night so they must have seen it this morning (June 29th). Here is what they said: We just finalized our selection yesterday. Some letters went out early in the afternoon but some of them will go out this morning. You should know by the end of next week.

Thank you futurebsnmj!! I've gone walked to my mailbox 4 times already but the mailman has yet to come... Haha! I'll be checking in another hour :)
