Hello all!
Has anyone applied to Pace University's combined degree program in Westchester for this coming Spring? I just applied and I am anxiously awaiting my acceptance or rejection notice. I haven't taken the GRE yet (will do in August).
If anyone feels comfortable sharing their GRE scores or GPA, and whether or not they were accepted, I would be really appreciative.
Also, maybe if I get accepted, we could start getting to know each other before the semester starts.
Good luck to all!
Stacy
I though that there was a bus that runs from the Downtown campus to Pleasantville all day long.
Has anyone started to look at the math material that we will be tested on the day or orientation?
Dave
It took them a while to get a reply to me, because they kept losing my materials (so annoying, but I see it wasn't just me, lol) -- my Micro professor emailed Mitch with a status report, and he replied right away, but then called me a week or two later to tell me he never got a report from her.
I wonder how reliable the bus is that runs from the NYC to Pleasantville campus...does it run really early? I hear that classes start at 7 AM...so maybe a monthly train pass would be better? Still trying to decide if I should just move to Westchester for a year (ugh), or figure out how to commute easily...I wish they would send a schedule of classes/clinic or something!
Also, what math exam? Maybe I'm missing something from them...so far all I've gotten from them was a phone call telling me I'm in, and a letter saying I'm in and to send updated transcripts as soon as Micro and A&P II are done.

you should get a packet from the school soon with details on medical clearance, orientation, class scheduling, etc. i was accepted about six weeks ago and just got the packet last friday. from what i remember lecture classes are on wed/thurs and clinicals can be on any of the other days. you may want to go ahead and make an appt for a physical, etc. as there is a lot of bloodwork one has to have completed. the packet also explans that you have to take a calculation exam on jan 14th (day of orientation) and what to read to study for it. i am sure you will get all that info in a couple days.
i will be driving from the morris park section of the bronx. it is about a 22 mile drive for me, and should take about 45 minutes each way. metro north is an option for me for days with really bad weather, but not super feasible otherwise based on my location.

Maybe I better call him this afternoon and see what's going on. Maybe he never got her grade report either.
I think most of my medical forms are done, I was accepted last semester into what I THOUGHT was a 2 year program, but it turned out to be a 3 year one (which was silly considering I could wait a semester, take the missing prereqs and do it in 1) -- but I got most of my forms in then, so hopefully there's not too much other stuff that they need.
Seems like a lot of people are commuting from distances...don't know why the school is so adamantly against it...hopefully all the information will come in the mail soon -- from what I've been reading, it seems like they do the class registration FOR us, so that's one thing we don't need to worry about (I guess we all take the same courses?)
Anyone know how many people are in the program? And are clinics on campus, or do we actually get to go to a hospital (and if so, do they transport us back and forth or is that our responsibility?)
no nothing yet.but the application deadline was october 15th. so i think its too early to hear anything yet. what program did you apply to? when was your application due? have you heard anything more from pace? when would you start if you got in?
Student 002 do you know how to private message? I got a response from Pace but I got thinking perhaps the admissions committee sees this stuff so I don't wanna post it on the site. If you know how to, can you let me know, and I'll tell you what happened. Thanks
Hi guys,
I recently got my acceptance letter. While i'm ecstatic about the acceptance i'm a bit thrown of course since it's for the 2 yr program an not the one yr accelerated. Veggiebeast I see you were in a similar situation before. Can you PM me so i can ask you some questions about it? Does anyone know how deferment works? or any information on class schedules?
Thanks so much!
Hi guys,
Thanks for the feedback. I realize the reason WHY i was placed into the two yr program. But my questions had to do with whether they offer program deferrment, conditional acceptances and such. Also, what the actual class schedule is like as I may have to possibly schedule around work.

Hey everyone -- I got my letter in the mail today
Is anyone else going in the Spring, and commuting from NYC? If so I'd realllllly like to hear advice on how to commute!! The woman in the office said it was probably not possible due to the distance, but I'm used to commuting for an hour so I really don't mind it.
I was thinking I'd perhaps find a lot in Westchester for my car near the Pleasantville train station and then be able to take it to and from class/the hospital. I don't mind that it's a 45 minute train ride (not an issue), I'm just a little nervous about getting from the station to class and to clinic hours!
Does anyone know what a typical schedule would look like?
Hope to meet some of you soon! :)
