Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone, I decided to start a thread for Spring 2022 cohort. I noticed one Haven’t been created as yet. I have applied for Spring 2022 and is waiting on the review process. I would like to connect with existing students and those who have or will be applying.

Yes!  That’s why I joined FB just to see the group.  I was accepted in September.

Hey! I'm sorry- I meant were you accepted into the FB group? If you haven't been, I can reach out to the moderator and let her know what your profile looks like or your name or something if you'd like.

No I have not been accepted and I believe I requested to join over a week ago, was rejected, and then requested to join again yesterday. My initials are MG.

thanks!

Hey! The admin said you've been accepted. Check again!?

There are two groups.  One is called Pace ABSN Spring 2022. I have been accepted into this group.  The other is called ABSN Spring 2022 Closed Group, and that acceptance is “Pending.”

I'm not sure about that group- I'm pretty sure it isn't specific to Pace anyway

Hi all- I got a call yesterday and was offered a seat in the Spring 2022 cohort (I was wait listed initially). I tried to join the facebook group because I had some questions, but if anyone would be willing to message with me a bit, via email/text/phone who is registered and going in January, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

I’d be happy to talk to you.

Hi! I'm not sure what I can offer but feel free to private message me through here (just go to my profile and click the little envelope at the top). If you decide to go to Pace you should definitely get started on ordering your items and CastleBranch. I can walk you through that.

The Truth about Pace ABSN program

1.False advertisement. On the school website they say the passing course grade is a 77 (C+). What they fail to mention is that you must maintain a 80 percent on all your exams scores. If you don’t maintain an 80 they will not include all your other assignment that could potentially bring your grade up. Even if your exam score total is a 79 they will not add your extra assignments separate from the exam. So you end up failing the course and have to wait 1 year later to take it. We started off with 88 students and only had about 60 students left. After finals there has to be only 40 students left. They incorporate a Kaplan exam that does not reflect the material we were taught. And most of the students failed.

2.Disorganized. The program is very disorganized. You will find yourself going around in circle trying to get any information from anyone. Your mentor is suppose to guide you. However most of our mentors never reply to our emails.

3.Money Money Money… They are all about the money! We spent money on books we didn’t even use. Some groups didn’t attend their clinicals so they had to purchase online VSimulations. They did not get reimbursed for the clinicals that they did not attend however it is part of the tuition. My group only used V-Sim one time and it was $280!. We all got an email in the beginning of the semester saying that the director said the books are required. But we did not use them. If you do plan on attending do not buy any books unless you are required to do assignments on them….( it might not even count if you don’t get a 80% on your exams)

4.Lack of support! This is a fast program. We all knew what we are signing up for. That still does not justify why we didn’t receive the support we needed from some of the professor. They play a  little game with us.  “We are here for you all and want to see you succeed”.  -Zoom.. email response when you reach out to them is complete different….. This is a private school you might as well go to a public school…. since you get not support.

5.The Syllabus is Subject to change… only when it benefits them.

Lucky I was able to pass all of my course. I just don’t think it’s fair how some of my classmates failed. I’m also worried about next semester seeing the outcome of this one. You all should also be aware of what you’re getting yourself into. We are all one group and we support each other. I hope this cohort does the same. ?
