Pace ABSN Fall 2020

Updated:   Published

Hi!

I wanted to start a thread for those applying to the fall 2020 ABSN program at Pace so we can go through this application process together!

Do you think it would be too much to email the admissions person and ask them around when they think I could potentially hear back? Or should I just let them do their thing...

No, sorry let me edit my response for clarity! I submitted my app on Jan 30th and I got my interview email on February 10th at 12:08 PM. Then I scheduled it for today Feb 18th at 11AM. There were still many open spots when I scheduled it but I’m not surprised they went so quickly.

A summary for those still waiting to hear: there is no math or writing portion. After waiting a bit in a lounge, they bring you to a small classroom for an extremely casual group interview. There is just a minute to jot down some notes on an index card in response to 2 questions and then another minute to answer both questions. You stand at the front of the classroom next to the panel of 3 faculty members but facing your peers as you answer. After everyone goes, they open the floor up for questions. Then they give you a brief tour of the labs where you would be practicing patient simulations, etc. It took maybe 25 mins total since there were only 8 of us in the 11AM group.

do you guys kow how many interview slots are available and when they stop interviewing?

do they review your application if you already submitted the app but you have a class missing

I don't think so. The will only begin reviewing your application if you are waiting on a recommendation letter to be sent in.

@uncivic so there was only 1 minute to respond to both questions? I thought I was going crazy thinking it was so short because everywhere I read said it was a 2 minute time period

It was one min to write, one min to speak, yea!

So from what I understand, they sent out 220 initial interview invitations (out of about 1400 total applications) and at the end of the interview cycle (mid March), if there’s any open spots and no one waitlisted they will send out more? There’s only 80 spots in the program though.

Someone in my interview group asked Amma Boakye during our session! I believe she is the director of student affairs for the program?? Idk, this is just what she told us.
