Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knows of any temp jobs that are allowing new grads to work out of state?
My only requirement is that the program would have to pay for housing and travel to the location, however, I would strongly prefer if the position was paid.
I know that there are many opportunities for nurses to work due to the pandemic, however, I'm having trouble finding ones that are open to new grads, and will pay for housing if you're out of state
I appreciate any advise!

Which states would you consider moving to. would allow our members to help you. Most temp positions require 1 year experience.
Define "temp" : 6 weeks, 12 weeks (most common), 6 months. 1 yr etc.
Have you searched Indeed.com for positions-- South Dakota has several employers accepting new grads posting RN positions.
Hi,
So "temp" to me would be six weeks or less.
I wasn't looking to move anywhere (housing and travel would need to be covered by the program)
Thank you for your response!
Sorry, Unaware of any hospital/facility hiring new grad for just 6 weeks --not worth their investment. Often takes 6-12 wks just to get license in these Covid times.

A Karen said, 6 weeks or less is uncommon even for experienced nurses. I've seen *a few* temp jobs for really hard hit areas that were 3-6 weeks, but they were all for experienced ICU nurses.
Your best bet, in my opinion, for temp new grad opportunities are as a vaccination nurse, I've seen a ton of ads around the country for vaccination nurses, no experience required, high wages. 13 week contracts with option to extend. I didn't see where housing and relocation was covered but I don't think it's realistic to expect that as a new grad for a temp job.
Good luck!

Interesting about vaccinator temp jobs. Here in Ohio, the state government keeps sending me emails about volunteering to vaccinate. An LVN friend of mine who recently got her RN but continues to work as LVN in home health looked into contract vaccinator jobs. Would you believe $15 an hour? Quite a drop from what she makes now of around $22.
I hate to use an ugly word but that effectively makes volunteers scabs. Ummm, did the developers not get paid? The pharmaceutical companies? Distribution chains? And now they are looking to not pay the nurses.
However some must be making money. Had my first dose last week at a CVS done by a direct CVS contract RN. Pretty sure even in the South RNs are not going to work for $15 an hour!
