This is actually my second time being accepted, the first time was the first cohort they offered, I was getting married and my husband was starting pharmacy school. I thought it was too much to take on at one time! I applied for Spring '08 but it was already full so I was accepted into the Fall '08 start.:w00t:
yes, they do have rolling admissions; i would encourage you to apply as soon as you complete the pre-req courses. i am not sure where you live but if you can i would attend an information session, they are put on by adviser for the program and she is fantastic!
i am sending you the link the will address all of the pre-req questions you have, i hope! if not feel free to ask me specific questions. http://www2.oakland.edu/nursing/files/infoprenursinghandout.pdf
there are currently 58 credit hours required for the accelerated program at a cost of $252.50 per credit hour. add $100 orientation fee, $140 times 4 for ati test, add cost of books at $300 times 4 plus cpr course, drug screen police check, uniforms, laboratory kit (roughly $70) and those physicals, medical screens and the "hidden extra credit fees for pathophysiology, nutrition, and pharmacology (another like 8 credits) and the fees go up to like $20,000 for the program....
the site for fall is yet to be determined so i am not sure where i will be attending! i stinks for planning but i will have to make do with where ever they decide.
RX- when did you apply? I applied in mid December and was accepted to the May 09. I am praying that I can start in January 09 (get bumped). One can hope right?
Do you know others in the program or that taken the program?
Is your GPA really high? My GPA in the core classes was actually not so great and I was shocked to get in at all. I do have a MBA that I graduated with an 3.89 but that shouldnt matter.

Lisa,
I'll be applying after I finish my pre-reqs at the end of this semester. In the pre-reqs I'm taking now, I've got 4.0's, but some of the earlier ones (just like you!) are not as good. Overall, I should have a 3.4. I'm hoping to get in next winter or next spring. Maybe we will be in the same cohort!
Have you finished NRS 220, 227, 308? I will be doing those this fall. I'm not a big fan of online courses and I've never done one before. I'm a little worried! :uhoh21:
