OU ABSN Interviews for May 2011 Cohort

Published

Hi guys! Interviews started today for the May 2011 cohort, and I think I was one of the first few to interview. I know we can't talk about specific questions that were asked during the interview, but I just wanted to see if anyone would like to share their reactions/experience here.

I personally felt pretty good, I did get one "I love your answer!" so that made me feel a little more secure:D since I felt like I stumbled on this one other question. I did feel a little rushed since they told me the interview would be super short right in the beginning  (did anyone else feel that way?) I didn't get a clear answer on where we will be having clinicals/classes though....

I'm sure it will be another month after interviews end until we all get mailed acceptance letters.

Any thoughts you would like to share?.....

Just wanted to check in and tell you I received an email from the dean because I have been trying to get in contact with the adviser for a while now and she said something about the adviser (I dont think we are allowed to use names here) that was filling in for the usual adviser that is on leave is no longer the adviser for the nursing program so I think they are between people so that is probably why they are backed up. She told me also that there are no seats available to move up to winter 2011 even though I am done with all my classes but if there was there is a certain protocol they follow to chose a student to fill that spot don't know what that means but I just wanted to let you know the info in case others are done with their classes as well!

Thanks for the update AdamsMaMi. I just can't wait for my letter. Think happy thoughts everyone. :)

Just wanted to wish you guys all the best of luck! I am definitely down for starting a facebook group or something when all of you get your letters that say you've been accepted;)

I know that people are wondering when those that got an acceptance letter interviewed. I actually had an initial interview on the first day set up for early afternoon on the 12th. Unfortunately, they had to reschedule that one as the interviewer did not show up. I ended up interviewing on the 21st and got my letter a week ago last Saturday.

I still have 2 pre-nursing courses to take which I've got lined up for this Fall. I also work as a CNA right now. I would not read too much into the delay in letters though. They did say though that everyone would know by August 30th. However, the date on the deposit is set for the 27th. Wishing you guys all the best, hang in there...

Hey AdamsMaMe, May I ask if the initials of the advisor that is no longer with the school K.W.? I've left a few messages and have not heard back. Thanks.

P.L. I contacted the same woman that send out the emails regarding the times for our interviews and she gave me a different contact so maybe you can do that just let her know you have been trying to get ahold of these people and you have left several messages and emails :)

No mail for me today. I just thought I'd let you know. I know not to expect one quite yet, but I was wishful thinking. :)

Evansmom, thanks for the update. I am so nervous and anxious every day for the mail. I keep refreshing this chat hoping that someone got a letter today. Hopefully, we will get it in the mail tomorrow. Only a few more days though. :)

Hi everyone, nothing for me either today. I am thinking we will hear Friday. I am definitely in for FB and a drink if I get good news!! Thanks for all the information from everyone. I am so glad we are all in this together.

I got my letter today. I did not get accepted. Good luck to everyone else! Hopefully you all get better news than me.

Ebledsoe,

Chin up and keep pursuing your dreams! I am sorry to hear that and am bracing myself also. It will get me quite angry if Oakland waited until the last week to send out all rejection letters. That is torture. I am hoping that someone on here waiting will receive good news. My mail hasn't come but thanks for letting us know and suffering it out with us!! Keep trying and we all will get there!

I am so sorry but you can apply again in 6 months and look at U of D they have a program starting in Jan it is just more expensive,,,,

Dandy,

Thanks! I am very disappointed. I work in a field I am not happy with, and I have suffered through 2 layoffs in the past year. I should have pursued nursing years ago in college, but finally "saw the light" this past year. I am not sure if I want to reapply to OU, apply somewhere else, sit a semester out from taking classes, or what exactly I want to do.

I do hope everyone else here does have better news. I think it will be pretty shady if all the rejection letters were sent this week. Like I said before, good luck to everyone else. I hope you ALL hear much better news than me.
