Hey there! I am looking to apply this fall for the 2018 OU ABSN program. Any others find their way here yet?
I am still finishing up my first bachelor's degree but will be done in Dec. 2017. I was told that I can still apply in the fall.
I am expecting rejection or waitlisted due to the fact that I won't be finished with my degree, and my cumulative gpa is pretty rough. Hoping to have a 4.0 in last 60 and a 4.0 in Science with a pre-reqs completed to give myself a shot.
Hi everyone! I've applied to the ABSN 2018 program at Tulsa and OKC. I graduated from SWOSU with a Biology degree and worked at Integris SWMC for about 4 months, and before that have 3-4 years of experience volunteering in a free medical clinic in Weatherford. I finished with a GPA of 3.3 and I honestly have no idea about my last 60 hours or my science GPA (I know that I should know both of those things lol). I've also taken the GRE, which I know isn't required, but I did well on it so I put it on my application.
Based on that information, does anyone have any idea what kind of chance I have of getting into the program? I went to the advisement session OU has on the first Friday of every month, and it was helpful but only to some extent.
Any insight is appreciated, thanks!
Hey there! So OU is very strict on what they base their application on...
1. Last 60 GPA
2. Science GPA
3. If your sciences were taken at a 2 year or 4 year school
4. Is your degree complete or in progress
5. How many classes are complete or in progress from the pre-reqs
They do not look at experience, references, or test scores from my understanding.
your 3.3 sounds like a great start. if you've done better on the last half of your classes then your last 60 may be higher than 3.3
