OSU OKC Spring 2014

I wanted to start this thread for all of the OSU OKC Spring 2014 applicants. I turned in my application yesterday and I can not wait for letters to go out! I am new to allnurses (but not to OSU OKC) and was hoping to share some of my excitement and anticipation with some other OSU OKC Spring 2014 hopefuls!

Hey everybody,

Don't bother trying to get a TB test at either Integris hospital location. They are only giving them to their employees due to a shortage of the tuberculin. CRG Labs is still giving them for $20 (cash only), and they say that they have a good supply. They are at 304 N. Meridian, and they do the TB tests on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (no Thursdays).

Hopefully you all won't have to waste as much time as I did trying to find the test. Bottom line: call before you go!

Also, are most of you opting for the nursing jacket or consultation coat?

Yeah, I found out about the TB test shortage today too. Also, I got the nursing jacket.

Is anyone taking the CPR class at osu/okc on Friday? I signed up for it since my license expired this summer.

Hey, you guys will be able to meet up early! I have to go to CPR class later, as I'm still having classes and finals through this coming Sunday. :( I do know a couple of our future classmates who will be there. Sounds kind of fun...

I can't decide what shoes to get. I hate all white and all black shoes. I want to get something comfortable. What color are you all getting? I hear people talk about danskos but I don't think I want to spend that much on all black shoes that I will only wear for nursing school.

I think I'll be looking for something black, since our scrub pants are black. Also, if something nasty gets on them they'll be easier to clean. I've heard great things about Dansko's as well, but they are so expensive. I might get them, though, because I'm definitely not used to being on my feet all day.

I'm using my old Tread safe shoes (shoes for crews) from when I worked at Panera Bread a little over a year ago. They cleaned up like new and I won't slip lol.

It looks like I will be shoe shopping this weekend. I think black is probably the best idea too. I am going to go to metro shoes to try on the dansko. We will see if they "blow my mind" lol. I don't have any all black or I would just use those too.

I bought a pair of black Skechers gowalk. They are very lightweight and comfortable. I got them at the Skechers store at the outlet shoppes for $45.
